Anyone else catch Zach SPRINTING in and pointing to Jim as he crossed the line and then the embrace? That was awesome. Happy for Zach, proving me wrong and making those short aid stops count.

Not a weak @ss field, they just destroyed last year's runner-up and the field. And who has thicker legs, freaking Zach Miller. "Thickness" of legs means nothing, Jim hasn't gained any leg muscles, even he said so, just go look at some videos. Actually thinnest he's been since college.

Zach Miller's wife is a nutritionist? Maybe she instructed him to blow through those aid stations. Maybe it would've been closer if he fueled more?

She absolutely dominates because the women's competitive field is basically non-existent. It's f*king joke. You can say what you want about Walmsley, but there's zero doubt he's a super solid runner ripping a 2:15 on a difficult course on his first ever road marathon. Better training, faster shoes, and a flatter course could've put him around 2:10-2:12. That plus his ultra achievements is super respectable. Courtney "dominating" races with zero competition and not having any road results to show for it is dubious af.

Just want to point out that is Millers racing style, in fact I would say it was more composed in aid in this race than past utmb’s where he shovels food into his mouth and exits the aid station like a mad man. He definitely was not going to go faster, this was by far his best 100 mile performance of his whole career.

Agree. Faster runner wins. Most fit athlete wins. .That's why Kenyans will dominate once they show interest because 13 min beats 14 min as we just witnessed.

while I agree about Walmsley this is a dumb take re Courtney. Road results mean nothing for a race like UTMB and aside from that she dominates in various ultras including at Backyard style ultras. There maybe be less competition among the women but that doesn’t really mean much when she’s lowering CR’s by huge margins and so far ahead of second in pretty much every race she does.

If Miller a 15 min 5ker can finish second here there are 100’s of athletes in ncaa that could do better.

I’m not disagreeing that there aren’t people capable of going faster even Courtney herself says she hopes tons of women fun even faster than her. She’s a total class act and besides that we just witnessed how many years it takes for a guy like Walmsley or Miller actually do what trolls on let’s run think any ol Kenyan could do so easily.

I love CD, but really hope that doing three 100-milers in a season isn't going to break her. Rob Krar did an easier triple (Western States, Leadville, RunRabbitRun) that are also spread out more, and he hasn't been the same since.

The only athlete I could think of that dominant was chrissie wellington. She was not catchable and retired on top.

Good point and I agree. But worth nothing that Krar struggled with injury even before he got into ultras. It’s too bad, I think that guy just got a bad roll of the dice on his genetics with regards to being injury prone. He is so fast when he’s in top form, it was beautiful what he did at Leadville.
