That comment makes zero sense and you’re supposed to know what’s going on?
Why not say ‘first marathon’?
My Bad, You are Correct She ran 1:08. 25 for a Half Marathon This Year and 1:11 Last Year, She also paced Friends?Teammates in I think the London Marathon.
This is her First Marathon after Having a baby and Getting Citizenship, Great Race for her
Typical Japanese coverage. Invite great foreign athletes and then ignore them. I don't know why they bother inviting them. Just hire a few foreign pacers and let the Japanese compete amongst themselves.
After all, the TV broadcasters and Japanese athletes themselves care only about their placing among Japanese.
And then they wonder why they're never competitive in international competition. Ugh.
At this weekend's Tokyo Marathon, Cam Levins of Black Creek, B.C., will attempt to lower his Canadian men's marathon record and automatically qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
How is this guy not injured running so many miles. Most guys run 100 miles but 170 miles + gym !!! If I did that I would immediately get injured. I’m shocked, he must be running triples…

Doh! He is in Canada. 170 km and not miles. 170 km = 105 miles.
Wow. Cam Levins 2:05:36! 30 seconds faster than Rupp ever ran. He dropped out of Salazar's group, and you thought he'd never do anything again, but he stuck it out and these years later he is so much better than when he started out at the marathon. Incredible even with the super shoes--which he's had for five years or so anyway.
"The resident of Portland, Ore., also returned to running three times a day for three or four days a week early last year and does daily mobility work and exercises to keep his body balanced."

From the CBC.CA link above:
"Levins, who averages 170 miles of running per week, left the Olympics wanting to improve "in every aspect" of his training and a month later started weight training with a coach twice a week."
I was watching the Latin American ESPN broadcast and all they showed was the japanese guys, I don't get it. If I was watching the Japanese stream, sure I would get that. but why would south americans prefer to watch the Japanese guy in 7th place over the lead pack??
Because they had to use the Japanese video feed. They didn't have their own cameras so they were stuck with what they got.
They should be like that Choi guy from Austin marathon and have their own bikes to film the leaders!
I didn’t watch the race this year (was our for a run) but last year they showed Kipchoge most of the way. Star power indeed - I would’ve watched if the old man was running
Kipchoge makes running 2:02:xx marathon looks so easy.

“When Levins turned to road racing two years after foot surgery in 2015, he continued to concern himself with meeting a race weight entering competition from his days running shorter distances on the track, even if it meant cutting calories. He did the same for the marathon, but it proved costly. "I've abandoned that [mentality] now. As the volume and amount of training I did [post-Olympics] became more of a focus, it became less about, 'Am I eating too little?' and more of a conscious effort of making sure I was eating enough," said Levins, who signed a contract last fall with Japanese sporting brand ASICS through 2024.”
Looks like he's done exactly what he set out to do when he moved to the marathon 5 years ago:
"Ultimately whatever event I do, I want to be competitive at the highest level,” he insists. “We both know what that takes in the marathon, you need to be mid-2:05 or even faster. I don’t know if I am that kind of marathoner, but that’s where my thoughts lie and that’s the kind of marathoner I want to be.”
Ending nearly two years of speculation, Cam Levins has confirmed he will make his marathon debut at the 2018 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Oct. 21. The 29-year-old native of Black Creek, B.C. joins one of the stro...
Just finished watching sans spoilers. Exciting finish and terrible coverage for the men's. Congrats to our Ethiopian bros for that deserved 1-2-3.
Excellent result for Rosemary Wanjiru winning the women's. She has the build and form of true women's GOAT Mary Keitany and the potential to emulate her.
