They were both well positioned early on. It’s not appearing to be a “speed thing”, it looked more like a speed endurance-thing, which is odd considering the majority of their training has been base still.

The whole thing is ugly. Best thing Wiley can do is join a credible program. We can ban talking about it, but it is the elephant in the room and the competitors know it.
Wiley's pr is misleading. It was last June in an all-comers meet with her coach pacing. Other than that 4:26 (2nd place 4:54), her second best time was 4:38. I predict she finishes in 4:40.
Hutchins makes her BYU debut in 3000 after 2 yr pause. I guess 9:20.
Masciarelli back from injury in the mile. She's more a 3k/5k runner, so I go w/ 4:45
I was wrong on this. Wiley ran well from the start and came on strong on last lap to win in 4:32, an indoor pr. Tyynismaa and Frias ended up the laggards. Maatoug will qualify, Bush will be right at cutoff.
Bush has vey good 800m speed but she has ever really been a 1500/mile runner. Her best range is 3000/5000.
kinda odd to me as with her her 800 and 3000/5000 times you would think she'd be closer to 4:30 but it just doesn't happen for her. She also had a kind of mediocre 1000 to open her season too - wonder if there was some issue in Dec/Jan?
