Watch the race on YouTube in slow motion. You will CLEARLY see that Mu's right foot stayed in the SAME PLACE the entire last 100 meters, which is about 8" inside the line dividing lane one and lane two.
Then come back to this thread and apologize for your rediculous accusation of racism. You should be ashamed of yourself.

What! As soon as Athing becomes aware of Keely on her inside ( just as they are about to enter the straight ), Athing is clearly running very close to the outside line of lane one, but a stride or so later she has moved to the middle of the lane. Indeed, I'm pretty sure Athing's move caused Keely to put on the brakes slightly. Clearly, not grounds for a DQ BUT not a good example of how to play the game in a fair and honest manner.
You're the one in denial. Keeky will have been coached by British athletics not to say anything controversial. British Athletics doesn't want to be drawn into what will be turned in the US into a white against black issue.
Why are there no head on videos of this race? There are of every other race.
The race was won fair and square by Mu. Keely ran very well though. Remember it is always easier to be the hunter than the hunted. They were all hunting Mu and she survived with Gold. Tremendous race and any controversy is just people with a grievance or no life.
She run all the race in line 1 to grabb some meters from Athing. Even when she saw Athing Mu leading from 250 meters in line she persisted in running in line. Your friends Brits are not honest about this.

Oh dear. Athing's habit - if you didn't know - of leaving a gap on her inside has been noted by commentators time and time again. She is famous for it! Again, famous for leaving a gap. Get it! Well, this time that bad habit almost cost her dearly, and it would have done if she hadn't deliberately made a move to hinder Keely's forward momentum. Get it!

She didn't block Keely and Keely got the best from the race. It will be hard for her to find another opportunity like that.
Let's see her run 1:56 in normal races and not just the two final and prove she isn't a stereotype of 1:58 runner at best.
What is a 'normal race' according to you? If you want to say front run then say so. Do you mean a rabbited DL? Or a champ race where someone else leads through the bell?
Plus lets not forget 2 of Mu's 3 victories were run on home soil. lets see Mu beat Keely in Gateshead a couple of times. Mu has only done one foreign DL so far and that one she knew in advance Keely wasn't going to be there.

I see the excuses from Mu supporters are coming already.
Excuses for winning the gold? Lol. Winners don't need excuses. Save those for Grant Fisher, Devon Allen and Keely. Y'all seem to think they need as many as you can manufacture.
Covid, Covid etc - why she only won by less than a stride. Sounds like an excuse for her not running faster.

I don't think Hodgkinson had anything more. If Mu had prevented her actually passing her then I would see grounds for a DQ. But I don't think that happened.
For Hodgkinson the challenge for the future is to add that extra percent so that she makes it past Mu. She may. Or may not.
Oh dear! Now it's getting silly...and just plain daft!
You're either a troll or a complete idiot. If you actually went back and watched the race on YouTube in slow motion instead of continuously posting nonsense on this message board, you will CLEARLY see that Mu's right foot stayed in the SAME PLACE the entire last 100 meters, which is about 8" inside the line dividing lane one and lane two.
Post the video you are looking at.
Mu started on the line between 1/2 then muved over to the middle of the lane!
Anyone see a head on video most strange it was not shown by the US based tv Co

She was never on the line in the last 200m. You brits are blind.
Anyone see a head on video of the women's steeplechase final? Most strange it was not shown by the US based tv Co
The lesson here for both Keely and Grant: if you are trying to pass inside, make sure that at least one other athlete is trying to pass on the outside. Otherwise the passee will see you on their left shoulder and reflexively and legally cut you off! If they have at least one on their right shoulder the chances are better they will swing wide.

Now you knuckleheads are falsely claiming Athing Mu was running in the middle of lane one. Female 800 runners are thin, but not THAT thin.
If Mu really was in the MIDDLE of lane one, then Keely wouldn't have fit in lane one and she would have ended up stepping inside the rail.
You're either being dishonest or you need glasses.

You're the one that needs the glasses! Fact 1, Athing runs on outside of her lane, and virtually EVERY commentator has remarked that she shouldn't do that because it gives an opponent an opportunity to get passed her on the inside. 2. Athing must have been told about it but maybe her confidence in her ability made her believe that such a situation would never arise. 3. With points 1 and 2 in mind, Athing is actually inviting an opponent to come through on the inside, but when that happened in the final, she clearly panicked and moved to her left to "close the door", as Steve Cram remarked. Can we please see the head on shots. Indeed, their absence suggests a deliberate attempt to cover things up and thereby avoid controversy.

Interestingly, surely, the IAAF must have complete control of the TV coverage, the images, of which, are then taken up by TV channels around the world. The BBC must have a camera, or access to shots that concentrate on UK athletes. Now, head-on shots! In the course of a race, head-on shots should not exist as they don't help the action at all; indeed, they confuse the eyes of the viewer as to the actual position of athletes. Of course, after a race has finished, it can be interesting to see a different perspective, and, of course, in the case of the women's 800m, it would be most enlightening!
Athing Mu barely held off Keely Hodgkinson for gold and a World title in the women's 800m final, winning her first World title and continuing an outdoor win ...
