Not to mention as far as I had heard as of yesterday only one person had died of Omicron in the US. So when you say rather poor immunity I have no idea what metric you are using. Chance of getting infected with symptoms, chance of hospitalization, chance of death? Those are 3 very different things and should be treated as such.
Relative to 3 doses is the key.
I agree that the recovered should mostly retain strong protection against severe disease (like the unboosted), but they are wide open to reinfection.
If we are going to mandate boosters as "fully vaccinated" in the US, which we probably will, we must mandate that recovered people get at least an extra shot or two. This will get them on the same level as 3x doses.
