It is not really that odd given the how diverse the geographic background is for the student body is at those schools. They are about to go off on spring break and travel and then come back. Were the students mainly local it would lower the risk but picture a few students picking up the virus and then coming back to the dorms. How could a school handle a hotspot outbreak in dorms?

I don't have a good feeling about this, C/M. And as a 71 y/o with some pulmonary issues, I'm not positive I will go even if it's on. Not sure to think with my heart or yield to logic and pass even if it's a go.

Being used to not having a tournament isn't really the issue nor is going back to the previous way of selecting their representative. They have one now and if you play for one of the 2 through 4 teams you've just had a chance at going to the NCAA Tournament taken away when it seems feasible to play the conference tournament in empty gyms.

That team should have won more games in the regular season.

Most of these universities are banning meeting/gatherings of >150. What is the number of people that would attend a game with "no spectators" between building staff, athletic dept staff, etc.

This is a no brainer, sports aren't any more important than other conferences/meetings these universities have canceled.

The issue with travel eludes you? This is the problem with inheritance babies. And if all these precautions result in very few fatalities, you'll be like the morons who don't evacuate when a hurricane is forecast to hit but doesn't. Sheer dumb luck and you think you're smart.

I agree with Wejo and Rojo. This panic is pathetic and unnecessary. Social media has caused a bandwagon effect of panic that is ruining important events for a lot of people. To every senior that’s track season is effected because of this ridiculous and pathetic panicking my heart goes out to you. My heart goes out to all people who’s events that they have spent time money and energy on working for getting cancelled. To the people who are panicking and encouraging these cancellations, all I have to say is shame on you and your selfish nature.

Most teams at NCAAs got there without winning a conference tournament, there's no reason the Ivy teams couldn't do that...oh wait.
