Vaporfly madness continues. Australian, Japanese, Canadian, Korean and Namibian Half NRs all fall in Japan

In Rio 2016 for the women's 10k there were national records set for Ethiopia, Kenya, USA, Greece, Berundi, and others. Were all of those records broken in the same race because of some spikes that were illegal? Or maybe sometimes really fast people get together on the same day in favorable conditions and run fast together? Quit taking away accomplishments of runners because they run faster than people did a long time ago when you competed. People have been getting faster every year since the first time people started racing.

First ever sub 4 in 1952, still only 400 Americans ever to do it by the mid 2000's. Now we have about 30 new Americans doing it every year, including about 6 high schoolers this past decade. People are getting faster, you have to accept it.

Brett Robinson has broken the Australian half marathon record at the Marugame Half Marathon clocking 59:57. ⁣The record has stood since 1968, when Darren Wilson clocked 1:00.02 in Tokyo, Japan.

Darren Wilson must be having a good chuckle....he was born on 9th Feb 1968, so he must have run 1:00:02 before the age of 1.

So...you took the original thread, which was about a couple of great races, and turned the title into a click-bait, sensationalistic, fear-mongering headline about your current obsession, a racing shoe that is ruining the sport.

Castor Semenya must be thrilled that Nike has buzzed in your ear so not every headline is twisted into a story about them ruining the sport anymore.

Not really, Japanese sprinters are better than whites. Japanese don't care that much about the half marathon, they only run them during marathon buildups and don't really develop the speed necessary for a fast half.

Australian record drops 5 seconds in 23 years. Gotta be the shoes. Times couldn't possibly improve by a whopping 0.2 seconds per year.

Women's canadian half record broken three times in 7 weeks (all Vaporfly racers I believe).

But also that said, it was always a soft record and still is slightly. Only just sub 70. Andrea Seccafien is a sub 15 world finalist in the 5000m so seems pretty fair that she be a sub 70 half runner shoe or no shoe.
