It's hilarious how the article points out that the local bishops bring the families in and browbeats them for more money. I guess that the church doesn't trust their minions to be honest when they report their incomes. The LDS church pays taxes on it's for profit ventures. This is not news. At all. You people are so naive to that church and how it operates. There is nothing new here.

They pay taxes. You can disagree on how they use their rainy day funds. But a church needs a sustainable long term financial plan for long term stability. Tons of churches went under during the great recession because they did not have sufficient rainy day investments. You can argue this church has gone too far in its investments. But it gives it enormous stability over time.

LOL, you are a fool spewing fake news. The LDS Office Building is 420 feet high and has 980,000 square feet. The temple is less than 300 feet high. The office building is 2 feet shorter than the Wells Fargo Building, but has 75,000 more square feet, and is thus the largest building in Utah, by far.

NFL was a non-profit for many years. Only very recently, 2015, did it change.

How are LDS fraudsters? They are transparent in their for-profit arms. Their leaders do not get paid huge sums of money(if at all) or live lavish lifestyles. Their leaders work tirelessly until they die without any retirement.

This information is widely known and easily available. There have been countless independent investigations into the financial stakes of the LDS church. They aren't fraudsters. They have enormous costs to maintain their church buildings and temples(they probably have over 20,000 houses of worship worldwide). This is extremely expensive to maintain. Just the energy bill alone is enormous. They have billions in costs every year and compared to other churches very few people are paid. I personally know people who work at church headquarters in business and accounting positions. They could all be paid much more in the private sphere. Their pay is relatively meager.

Even the LDS propaganda machine Deseret News admits that fraud is more rampant in Utah than anywhere else in the US. It is the culture, same as with Nigerian princes.

So you can't prove fraud within the organization of the church itself so you shift the argument? Nice tactic! Guess I won that one.

Now lets address your next argument. Yes fraud happens with INDIVIDUALS within the LDS community. They are a very tight knit group that places enormous trust in their neighbors. Obviously they place too much trust sometimes because it really leaves them vulnerable to the (very) few bad apples. Anytime you have a trusting, tight knit community you will have higher rates of fraud.

They are way more concerned about amassing money than about ministering to souls. Good luck trying to get into a temple without being up to date on your tithes. No matter the circumstances, collecting the cash is the most important thing going on in any LDS meeting. I know this for a fact because I have experienced it first hand for many years.
