I'll throw out a few facts in no order, from where I sit:
-Both guys were exceptionally frustrated. Garrett, one of the top handful of defesive guys in the league, was quiet all game
and when he did break free to the QB he was held. Season has been far from what Browns thought and bragged
about.
-Rudolph was terrible all game with poor reads, horrible passes, and when he did throw a decent pass, 2 of 3 were dropped.
Season has been terrible by squeeking out a few ref enhanced wins and losing close ones to better teams. Both teams
likely feel they are far superior to the other.
-Garrett should not have followed through to take him down since the pass was long gone. If that was Brady or Brees flags
from everywhere would have been raining down. I don't have a problem with it, but 'usually' refs do to control things.
-Rudolph threw his hands up as an appeal to the refs, not in a scared fashion although Garrett could/would have buried him
with or without a helmet in his hand.
-DeCastro (#66) simply threw Garrett to the ground and held him down to end things. Obviously the smartest guy in it all.
-Pouncy has always had a rep as a hot head, dirty if he can get away with it, from college to now. He likes that rep so he goes
the cheap way of throwing punches & kick he knew would be negligible but pad his own perceived tough-guy rep. It also
probably sits well with his teammates that he "has their back," whatever that means.
-Probably overall good for both franchises since this "rivalry" really has been dead for many years. Makes future games
interesting when neither team is surrently very good.
