One alternative approach to training

I am with mr. rainwater any ideas are welcome in my opinion it is all for the good of the sport. Think many of leagalizeit's ideas are great. If you think that visualizing, ballet (which even pro football players do), sun bathing for energy and some of the other ideas don't help your running then you don't know what it is to be the best runner you can be. Flexiblitly,mental exercises, and getting energy from external sources all help your running. The difference between my junior and senior year of high school where i dropped 20 seconds in the mile was on flexablity and mental exercises alone. Have an open mind and take what you can get out of any words someone might tell you.

How much time do you think one should sing, and how? I think about running too much and it effects my racing is there anything that you can recomend for taking your mind off a big race thats comming up?

Well, it's tough to see where your holding that energy that takes away from your total amount of energy you then have to pulse out during your race. Singing may defintely help though. If you've ever had a major abdominal problem to something going on in between your stomach and throat region, it could release the energy that is being stored in those injuries. I find that chanting like the monks, which at first sounds inhumanly low pitched, really opens up my lungs from the their very pits, and that whole inch or two circular light pole of energy that runs up from your root chakra out your crown feels more active, like it's doing the breathing for me. When I sing and it isn't perfectly smooth as I wish it to be it's because i'm blocking energy at a place on that light pole, so the singing is kind of like a moving meditation that opens something withinyou up and can be manipulated so that it helps your running. Try looking straight ahead, then look directly down, but don't move your head down, most of the visual input coming to your brain will show blackness, with just a bit maybe coming from the outside world, well by doing that I find it easier to concentrate on the light pole, or energy tube if you will, and the singing resonates really nicely within.

Legalizit, Should I place the joint in the center of my mouth or to the same side I hold my crack pipe in?

Is your "root Chakra" the same thing as what is referred to by medical experts as simply "the asshole"?

Legalizeit, you make some very interesting points. I think you're lifestyle model might be too rigid. It doesn't take into account things you have no control over like weather, rain, fog, etc. Also I think there might be an over emphasis on visualization. It is possible to be overly stimulated for your workouts and races which would have a negative impact on performace. Also I think meditation might be best used after the workout, to reflect on performance. Possibly during stretching. Also about Cerruty, I'm sure if you went to your local library you could find some old school running book with some of his training models. One last point, I've heard about taking the lunar cycle into consideration when training. Our russian pole vault coach used to go by that while training his athletes.

I really thought you weren't being serious, just one more problem with words. Anyways, wheat germ I know very little about, computer monitor emissions though I feel aren't great. I sold my computer and monitor to some dude for 2 bucks this past fall because the noises coming out of them were ruining my silence and I got the feeling the electromagnetics they were giving off were harmful to my thinking. I know TV changes your brainwave state, and I imagine all electronics do to some degree.

Legalizit I was wondering what your thoughts on alcohol are? I do not drink it because I believe that it does nothing for my body as well as my mind. By not drinking I have increased my focus. What are your thoughts on this?

I say there is something to learn from everything, and while I don't recommend drinking all the time, trying it isn't always a bad idea. You may wish to have an objective before you do it, such as understanding why it is such a devestating problem throughout the world and yet people keep on keeping on with it. It could also reveal to you that temporarily losing sight of your past memories has the potential for incredible insight, epiphanies (sp?). The trick of course is to be able to do this is in a sober setting. I'd recommend you start trying to pay attention to your dreaming more, think about it when you wake up and don't let it escape your conscious.

Seko-San, I had a feeling you were a woman when I was writing that, anyways though, the perineum is still in the same spot on you as it is me, it's just in between different things. And yes, thank God for women, we could use their collective voice of love in times like these to shoot down the men running my country that are being overcome by their fears.

Eugene Public Library gives you an hour of free internet access per day, and their computers, just like the rest of the library, are brand new, and much quiter than the computer I had gotten in '97. It's a beautiful place, though most say it ought to be for 36 million.

i'm not that well informed on trepenation, however it sounds a bit on the extreme side. i could see it working for mystics thousands of years ago or something, but if i want more blood in my head i'd rather go for a run, or stay up for 72 hours straight or something of the sort instead of drilling holes in my head in strategic locations. a "perma-high" as one site called the result, is not a desirable thing, it would make communication with the rest of the world very frustrating.
