BTC disguising stress fractures as foot infections to try and stop the negative press about them
Andrews, yes, he has had a lot of up and down and after trying to make the team next year it seems appropriate to end it. Jager has plenty left. It sounded improbable to come back to do something with as much impact as the steeple with so little time. Only asking for more issues. All of the fractures in the foot need to be babied and then babied some more.
Jenkins has been on the cusp of a breakout. Too bad for him. I think Chelimo and True go 1-2 this year at USA's. I wonder how fit some of the BTC 5k guys like Hill are. Is Hassan Mead update?
Is Brenda Martinez update? Don't see her anywhere on the list for 800 or 1500.
Hill not entered, Mead Has run a 3:40 and a 13:25(falling off the pace at a diamond league meet) he has the Nacac standard so if he's top 3 he goes to worlds

Pretty sure Jenkins will be going for the 10k, he is in the Ethiopian trials this week. There is no reason for him to scratch with the standard.
Gault says he tore his plantar fascia. It’s a shame too, it seems like 2017 has been the only year he’s been able to keep healthy during his pro career.

bmart (sub-elite) had some sort of surgery lately, can't recall what.
Brenda posted 3 weeks ago that she had an emergency appendectomy. I'm guessing it's too soon to come back from that.
What ever happened to Stephanie Garcia? She was one of the faster US steeplers, not on par with the Big Three, but after that the women's steeple seems pretty open and we have four world slots this year. I'm interested in seeing how that event will shake out. (Fingers crossed for Allie O.)

Garcia switched coaches in the last year or so (now trains with Kim Conley). She has raced some 1500s and 5ks this year (no steeples), seemed she entered for the 5k (with a 15:34) and was not accepted into the field (I believe sub 15:30 was the standard needed to be allowed ). Seems like after her fall from 2016 trials she hasn't been the same since.
Another plantar fascia problem with NOP. I know the nike 4% causes problems like that but this particular training group seems to have consistent issues with their athletes' fascia

Chill out... plantar fascia is a very common injury among runners, I highly doubt that it is mainly cause because of the 4% shoes. Also, he is a 3k/5k runner not someone who regularly trains in the 4% shoes like the marathoners like Rupp does.
Jenny Simpson declared in both the 1500 and 5000. (Assume the later is insurance in case anything weird happens in the 1500.)
Murphy is a wimp if he backs out of the 1500. Real men (Coe, Makhloufi, etc) do the double.
Goldilocks won't run. He's done. Good riddance. I sure did enjoy watching him race 2-3 time per year.
When Hoppel makes the team in the 8 is he going to go ahead and join NOP?
NOP and their massive ego's would love to be able to flaunt that they swept the 800 at USA's.
Murphy might be a wimp but he would look even worse if he didnt make the team in either.

Jenny told me her plan is to run both at USAs. I asked her which she would do in Doha and she said that for now the 1500 remains her main thing. So I think she still might run the 5k in Des Moine regardless of whether she makes the 1500 team. But she would only run the 5k in Doha if she missed out on the 1500 team.
Will Leer does not make the cut in the 1500 or 5000 - might be the end of that career
Serious infections (staph) are on the rise and much tougher to treat now. My son just had a likely staph infection that was getting better on its own and then spread and had to be treated, though treatment worked quickly and my brother had a more serious one a few years ago that recurred after a few months and sent him once to the ER.
Real shame for Andrews--Lyme disease if not properly treated soon can be debilitating and recur for years. Elena Delle Donne has had recurrences for close to ten years now.
And real shame about Jenkins. He has tremendous potential, already a 3:35 guy in 2016, 7:38 last year, and 13:07 way back in 2015! but can't stay healthy and with a torn plantar fascia his Olympic campaign next year may even be in doubt. It can take six months to heal and he may not be able to train hard until sometime in the spring.

Why are you so anti-jager? Make you feel inferior or something? Catch your girlfriend diddling herself to his usatf profile?
