How about those preseason regional rankings? 4 GLIAC teams in the top 8 on the men's side and 4 in the top 10 on the women's.

Kapes for the win. He’s back on Ashland’s roster officially.
What's the story on this dude? I ran a straight 4 years and he somehow has been in the collegiate ranks since before I ran and now after.
Wayne State women finishing top 3 for sure
Y'all scared of making bold predictions or what? Can't believe it is GLIAC week and I haven't seen a single post
5 things you can take to your local bookie:
1. All this talk of a Tech upset is just people trying to cling to their wet dream of GV actually losing a conference xc meet
2. SV will fall out of the top 3 on the men's side for the first time in quite awhile, their lack of depth will finally come back to bite them
3. Wayne State women will put 2 in the top 10 and it will power the team to a top 2 finish
4. Davenport will not be last on the men's or women's sides, thanks to LSSU reclaiming their dominance at the bottom
5. A slightly off day by Tanner Chada allows for the bad man, Braden Reichl to take the individual title

I agree with 1 and 2. 3-4 don't matter for shizz. Tech is good, but they're not a program like GV. In fact, they might only have a stretch of 5 years at this level. No way they can build a dynasty. Stick to skiing.
SV is very overrated. This might be the year that they get knocked from a National qualifying spot. Depth is horrible. Recruiting classes have been lackluster. Sure, they have a new coach and are in transition, but really, nothing like we saw last year.
Not sure why no one has mentioned Brock Eves and Parkside. I'm a Parkside Believer!
But I think your first observation reflects a bigger problem with GLIAC running. NO ONE CARES ANYMORE. There is no more Gliac passion for running. I've been saying this for a while. So many good programs have jumped ship and many more will too. Gliac is dying.

Zaremba wasn’t even a scorer for gv at Lewis how is he gonna be 4th overall at conference. Terrible list. Make a better list.
Get a load of this "solid analysis"

man if this isn’t the most SOLID analysis I’ve ever seen
pahl beats zaremba without a doubt, mitter shouldn't even be on the list
GV sweeps. Rinse, repeat.

Wow, that turned out to be a pretty accurate darn prediction! (Heard it was a tough course as well)
Pretty expected weekend. Tech gave it their all but need a number 4-5 runner. GV classic but not where they usually stack up on point.
Saginaw's guys stepped up and almost caught Tech who was fading at the end. Huge race for Dayton Brown. Parkside looked pretty good taking 5th.
Onto regionals, can the GLIAC sweep the top-3 places? Walsh and Southern Indy didn't look overly impressive in their conference wins. How many national bids will the Midwest get??

Totally agree! It should be very interesting at Evansville. Hope the weather cooperates for everyone's sake. GLIAC could throw some big surprises into the final results. IMO a top three GLAIC sweep is not out of the question.
Sidenote: Personally, l am glad to see Saginaw Valley showing some serious life in XC in both the men and women's programs. And their first man, CarLee Stimpfel, who is only a sophomore, finished second overall. Another sophomore, Dayton Brown, was third overall. And a third sophomore Ryan Talbott was eighth. The women's team performed even better - second overall behind GV. Give their new coach a couple years and they could be a contenders again. (Don't laugh it has happened before - I ran there when it was SVSC in 1976-79 - it was a great time for XC - still is).
What are your guys' predictions for regionals on November 9th? I would be interested in what "dale's hill" has to say - he seems to have pretty much hit conference nail on the head.
Predictions:
GVSU
MTU
USI
SVSU
1. chada
2. winders
3. humes
4. stimpfel
5. reichl
6. pahl
7. brown
8. eves
9. nolan
10. mbuta
Good list, but mbuta at 10k? first 10k so dont know if to have him that high. Has showed some good progression 8k wise but still should not be ranked that high
How many bids will both sides get? I am guessing 7 on the women's side (seeing as how there are 8 ranked teams if I am not mistaken) and 5 on the men's.
