Having tried LSD in the past I can attest that it's not even a slightly violence or craziness inducing drug. It has a slight "upper" effect but nothing like meth. Really it makes you want to sit and stare at a flower or some clouds, or even the wall (which will be moving). It's nice to listen to some music and you might want to dance or otherwise move a bit. A bad trip might make you feel sad. But certainly not violent. Maybe he was on acid. But don't blame the acid.

You must not of taken very much. I was a consistent LSD user for about 3 years. I took too much one time, and definitely could see myself, or someone else hurting themselves or someone else if they are not prepared for the experience. LSD can be the best, most enlightening experience of your life, or can be the most terrifying.

It's not a similar situation at all. If you drink and then drive, you're aware that there is an increased possibility of getting in accident and maybe injuring someone. That is a situation where the risks of the decision are known.

I don't recall hearing of an acid fueled attempted murder before. You can't say he should have been aware that he might want to murder his girlfriend.

It's exactly the same. I have less sympathy for this guy than someone who has a few drinks and then accidentally runs someone over. This guy intentionally tried to murder someone. You sound like you have done too many drugs yourself if you don't want to recognize that anything can happen when you do drugs. I know that and most people know that. Crazy liberal druggies maybe don't, but normal people do. I hope he goes to jail for life.

If it turned out that the girlfriend had spiked his drink without his knowledge would you still see it as him intitionately trying to murder her?

I suspect it was not real acid, it sounds like it had PCP in it.

Having taken LSD probably 15 times over the course of about a decade, in various states of mind and environments, never have I had a violent inclination. This is true of everyone I know personally who have dabbled- even for people who probably should not have taken any drug. I have seen much worse psychosis brought on by powerful cannabis.

Mushrooms have been turbulent but only inwardly. But again, nothing violent or aggressive.

This forum is rife with sad, spiteful people.

One thing seems clear though: you have likely taken too many drugs in your life, because you're not making a lick of sense.

Experimenting with heavy drugs is an absolute roll of the dice/russian roulette. You have no idea what the short or long term consequences of those experiments will be. It's not a gamble worth taking for most (and yes, I dabbled a bit [only a bit] in some fairly strong mind altering substances, and ....some good times, and some not so good. It's not worth it).

So the people who knew that this was going to happen are the morons? A moron is someone who has poor judgement. That means the guy is the moron and the people posting that they didn’t realize this could happen are also nmorons. The posters condemning it due to their knowledge and self control are, by definition, the smart ones. Repeatedly stabbing someone requires a long jail sentence. If the consequence is not severe, others won’t be deterred from continuing with type of behavior. If there is any sympathy for him, why not support an eye for an eye. I doubt you would think it ok to have him stabbed in the face as punishment. His girlfriend will wake up one day when she realizes this dark side exists.

I've done LSD dozens of times with hundered of other people. Probably 50 times or so. I've taken mushrooms maybe three dozen times. I've also done LSA and done a few other hallucinogens. I've been around thousands of people when they are using hallucinogens. I have never seen LSD cause violence.

So, there are several options here: He might be predisposed to violence. He might have used something that was not LSD (research chemical) or used other drugs in addition to LSD. He might have some psychological condition which was triggered. No telling. I suspect the most likely of those is that he was using some other kind of drugs in addition to LSD or was sold something else and told it was LSD.

He just lined himself up for a heck of a nightmare. He looks like a pretty kid that comes from a wealthy background. What this means is he will be sent to a level 4 type penitentiary which houses violent offenders there is zero escaping that fate. He will get probably 10 years minimal which will make him mid 30's when he gets out. He clearly won't have any financial worries as I am sure his parents will toss him some money to get on his feet. However he does not look like he has ever been in a fighting in his life which is going to be a problem. He probably won't get raped as he did not rape anyone. He will more than likely get assault ex actually I will guarantee that. He looks like the type of individual that just naturally will rube those guys the wrong way. California prisons are no joke they are violent and violence does occurred. My younger brother did 5 years however my younger brother can hold his own in a fighting. I did time in county for being a moron and I can tell you, you get tested and if you can't fight good luck. I have zero sympathy for him he did the crime do the time buddy. I hope the female he attacked is alright and I hope they handle this piece of trash accordingly.

If you type his name into Google images besides the minimal running pictures of him, you also see images of the California Prisons welcoming committee. They are easily visible by the tattoos for eyebrows and I wonder if he knows the definition of estortion look on the face.
