#1 is Hadd!!!
#1 is Hadd!!!
Flagpole, I got excited when I finally saw my name make the list......only to read the rest beside my name.,,,boo-hoo! Guess I should just go back to NorthAmericanWhitetail.com!
OK, I'll add McV to my list. It's nice to here from someone who knows what he's talking about from personal experience and who keeps it more or less positive.
Bubba1,
No slam intended my man. Giving out the info isn't exactly what you do mostly here, so you just can't be in that group - knowing the little bit about your running that I do, I would listen if you did have running info to offer though. I don't belong in that group either. I am in the incredibly handsome man group, but not the giver of running information group.
I just got through Hadd's post. I was going to nominate him yesterday, but didn't muster up the energy. Anyway, it's obvious he's easily number 1 on this board when it comes to selfless sharing of good advice.
There are a good handful of other helpful contributors also. Jason comes to mind (when he sticks to running), along with most of the other earlier nominees in the thread.
HOW ABOUT THE "DEFENDER OF COLORADO /WETMOE, ETC.." - One Keg
best of the best
#1 wejo- noone comes close, look at the front page
#2 joseph a. mcveigh-professional and precise
#3 vipam-noone can hold a candle to this guy stats
#4 hadd-a personal favortie
#5 jason-when he talks about running he is great
i think those guys could coach our olympic level athletes to superstardom.
The coaching crowd of jk,hadd,wejo,malmo,hodgie-san are great.
I cast my vote for the overall title to mcveigh, the pragmatic voice of reason
Whatever happened to "Dr Phys"? I always garnered good info from his posts.
Now we have Dr. Phil.....maybe its the same guy.
I agree, love mcVeigh, and I have to add Eddy.
He uses his name, speaks his mind. This is off the subject but I was running around the Albuquerue Academy last week, and I saw Paula hauling, then I saw Sonia O'Sulivan, then Elva Dryer, the Eddy running with Bob Kennedy and like 15 high school boys.
It was great to see so many celebrities, and Eddy and Bob training with Eddy's high school team.
"Hadd" -- so smart I understand little of the stuff. Honorable mention to "fullem" for the useful medical advice he gives.
But "Most Informative" in my book is "Statman Crothers"
bernstein.
My opinion - This may sting to a couple of you, but I am calling a spade a spade on this. Some of you are lame at coming up with picks appropriate to the topic.
"Most Informative" has to do with providing information that is USEFUL and RELEVANT to the PRIMARY purpose of the boards. So then the primary purpose has to be defined... I am going to say it is that which is directly related and promotes the highest levels of competitive running.
That being said, anyone with me, Flagpole Willy, Portland Runner, Gabe Jennings, Paula, Rojo, Monty, Kevin Sullivan, DougC, Bubba1, Dr. Phil (please, c'mon), and even Joe Mcveigh - take 'em down. It's not that many of these tools couldn't be informative, it's just that they decide not to most of the time (compared to what they usually post), they are informed / informative about stuff not directly linked with the primary purpose, or they simply have not posted enough. No one can argue whether or not JAM is a voice of reason (despite being a yankee), whether Sully is fast and will defend his coach forever, or even if Portland has a sense of humor... but informative?
So, here's the following people don't suck in regards to being informative.
Historically Informative - Malmo, Hodgie-San
Current Results and Upcoming Events and Contenders Informative (HS, National, and World) - Vipam
Above Average Physiological Informative - JK (if still living), Hadd
Noteworthy Mentions:
Wejo (if you count the front page, then he can be included with Vipam)
Jason (shows slight potential from time to time, but also seems to forget which board he is on most of the time)
JEH:
"It's not that many of these tools couldn't be informative..."
Tools?
Them's fightin' words... except you did lump yourself in with the other tools, so I guess it's OK.
I do agree with your selections and rationale.
And sure, you're a tool, too. ;-)
Maybe my passion on this deeply moving topic got away from me. Maybe the mischeivous me just always wanted to call a few of the best runners tools. Maybe my overwhelming jealousy and insecurity could no longer be contained. Maybe I couldn't think of a term that could describe all of us and figured, hey, we're all tools sometimes. Even the "Informative" are not exempt.
Everything is so dang complicated.
Oh, I forgot to put bfullem in the Biomechanically Informative category.
JEH, don't forget about me. Am I a "tool" or not?
Can you read? You seem to have bigger issues to be concerned about. Not only can you not read, but you appear to believe that your self-esteem will be aided through my labeling you a tool. Thoner, indeed, you're a tool. One of the better 100m/w tools around.
Thanks, JEH......I needed a boost today-HA!
I've been called worse than a tool.
