Bumping. Did no one else notice what the Arkansas ladies did this weekend? I am not affiliated with this program whatsoever. Is the California-riverside course that fast?
Based upon those that beat them, no it wasnt that impressive. Danielle Shannahan is an NCAA qualifier, but barely cracked the top 100 last year. Faith Makau didn't even qualify for NCAA's last year.
That being said the season is young. A couple of those razorbacks are going to need to move up to give them a low stick.
So the Arkansas ladies--7 of them--all ran 5:20ish miles for 6K a week ago.
Today, one UNH star runs 5:25 miles for 5K to win Beantown. Most of the winning team all run 5:30ish miles for only 5K.
How is Arkansas not a podium team?
Again I don't know the program, or more importantly the difficulty of the courses...just trying to make sense of the data. Maybe the UC-R course is just downhill and fast?
Arkansas might beat out either Stanford or Michigan for that 4th place Podium finish but on the Women's side it's really a 3 team race with Oregon New Mexico and Colorado. Stanford has by far the most talent just crappy coaching.
Arkansas women will be burnt to a crisp by pre nationals. Will make NCAAs due to the weak south central region, but will finish in the bottom half
