Yes, how in the world did Kyle and Paul end up crossing paths? Neither one has a tracker. They just happened to meet somewhere in middle America? You can't make this shit up...very suspicious.

Er, I think you're being a teeny weeny bit overly sensitive, reread my post, note "code for sponger", "idiots" and "his fun and adventures". Any fool could see it was about "his fun and adventures", except the idiots and sponsors, the charity bit was just an angle to justify it. I'm agreeing with you FFS.

At least there's a chance he could raise a couple of hundred pounds lol, unlike the ones who have the go fund me bullshit ones to raise awareness about something and don't even raise a single shekel.

if pauly really wanted to help out the british legion he would go down to his local supermarket and work for a week as a general assistant and donate £285 in wages

if he did it for a year he could donate around £15000 a year

I asked him a few things. He evaded the tracker question and I asked four times - as well as asking about why no charity donations until this thread was started, yet two grand to Gofundme, and why no watch data to prove he's doing this.

the GoFundMe donations havent stalled. probably because its still the most prominent thing on his webpage.

i wonder how many people who donated to it are aware that not a single cent of that goes to charity and that all they're doing is paying his expenses.

so far for every £8.34 he has been given he's raised £1.00 for charity.

surely there's a better way to do this.

i also wonder if his sponsors were aware that he would make practically zero effort to promote the charity or solicit donations (for them).

It doesn't mention anywhere that the donations on the gofundme page will go towards the Royal British Legion, nor does it imply so.... There's that :)

When you go to the website the Gofundme is in huge letters.

If he's told people he's doing it for charity and to go to the website to donate, it's possible some people didn't fully understand that the Gofundme was just for him.

If they did knowingly fund him, they did so because they were led to believe it was for charity, but then once he got a load of money for himself he never promoted the charity at all.

If it's a charity run, why isn't the charity in huge letters?

I agree that the charity donate link should be the main one on the home page. He definitely messed up there and needs to make it a lot clearer on his website. As for the actual GoFundMe page, I do not see any problem with that, its what GoFundMe is for... Funding things, like it says in the description. I think the main issue here is that it he has not made it clear enough by any means which site is which for donations.

As for the tracking I am very surprised he has not supplied a link for his Garmin as he is seen with it in photos on facebook and Instagram. But, after following him since the start of his run, I do most definitely believe he is crossing the whole country on foot. He only needs to provide the garmin to prove that he is running it as opposed to walking it really.

You've been "following him since the start of his run"? What is your connection to him? Or, if no connection, how did you hear of his attempt?

"I am not only doing this as a personal challenge but I am trying to raise some money for The Royal British Legion, a charity close to my heart after serving for 12 years in the British army."

im certain that this influenced many peoples decision to support him (including his sponsors) and yet he made zero effort to help the charity until Trolley Pusher called him out

No connection apart form we are both members of running pages on facebook. That is where I heard about his run.

I agree about the fact that he made no effort up to now to to raise money for the charity but you would have to be pretty stupid to think that the GoFundMe donations are going to the charity when it says right there on the page that the GFM donations are going to help fund his run.

To be honest I think this guy has made mistakes with how he has things laid out and how his site doesn't advertise the the donation page for the charity first and foremost. But I think that they are just that, mistakes, I don't think that he is trying to con anyone, it would take a lot more effort to do that than to actually raise money for the charity along side his GoFundMe.

He has made mistakes, if he MAKES the changes necessary then we should let him be and stop crucifying him!
