Holyfack Brojos, you really are grasping at straws here. Ever since this event started, you have whined and trashed and demeaned. I confess to thinking before the event that this would be an epic Nike fail, but it turned out to be brilliant, and I admit to being wrong about it. Why can't you just do that too?

2:00:25 is the TIME HE RAN. The clock was off a bit, they made it the right time. How is this even a story? (Especially because they made it 2sec SLOWER!!)

I have never seen a photo of the finish with the time photoshopped and sent out by the race. That's why we wrote the little blurb that we did. Didn't say it was the worst thing in the world. Just pointed it out because it shows how marketers think.

They could have superimposed 2:00:25 at the bottom, etc. Instead they tried to make it look like the scene showed something it did not. None of the photos sent to me by PhotoRun or available via Getty images showed 2:00:25 because the clock never showed that with him at the finish.

If Kipchoge poised later with the clock showing 2:00:25 that is something completely different. Races often set the clock to the actual time for photos.

I'll buy a pair of Nike Pegasus to the first person who posts under a registered name proof of another race having altered the time on the clock when the runner crosses the finishline and sending it out prior to today. Maybe you can find one but I've never seen it done.

As I said I wished the clock had the actual time, but it didn't.

The clock was off as you say. It showed 2:00:23 and never went above it at the finish. They photoshopped the photo to show 2:00:25

How could the time be wrong on a time trial event??? One wonders if the finishing-line time would have been altered if it had showed 1:59:59 ..

This is no different than Oiselle photoshopping the Swoosh off USA kits.

Someone runs a record or amazing time on the track. Scoreboard shows the unofficial time. Turns out the official time is hundredth or two different. Person poses by the clock that now has the official time.

Is that different?

This time the unofficial clock was off by 2 on the fifth digit. They corrected it in the photo rather than correct and have Kipchoge pose with it.

The BROJOS ooze jealousy over anything related to Nike. This is another demonstration of their low class. Sickening display really.

It's not bad form; it's lying. This is why people hate the media; they either don't believe that news outlets are trying to tell the most accurate version of the truth or they just hate anything that doesn't agree with their own opinions. This is a small but important piece because it's one more data point showing Nike cutting a corner.

No, it's not lying, and it's not cutting a corner. They obviously want to use the photo for media and marketing purposes. Everyone knows the official time. If that photo is used un-edited, it will create lots of confusion and questions. So rather than bear the burden of dealing with that, or having to mark the photo with an asterisk every fvcking time they use it, someone at Nike was smart enough to simply fix the problem.

It's not dishonest in any way because now it reflects THE ACTUAL TIME. Absolutely no one in the real world would think twice about this. Only the basement dwellers of this forum would ever consider this to be even remotely a problem.
