This is a small but important piece because it's one more data point showing Nike cutting a corner.

No, it's not lying, and it's not cutting a corner. They obviously want to use the photo for media and marketing purposes. Everyone knows the official time. If that photo is used un-edited, it will create lots of confusion and questions. So rather than bear the burden of dealing with that, or having to mark the photo with an asterisk every fvcking time they use it, someone at Nike was smart enough to simply fix the problem.

It's not dishonest in any way because now it reflects THE ACTUAL TIME. Absolutely no one in the real world would think twice about this. Only the basement dwellers of this forum would ever consider this to be even remotely a problem.
