How are you going to film this guy when he doesn't even use a GPS tracker or uploads data from his watch? Or even show any pictures or videos of him running? You won't even know where he is. He's probably just sitting in his RV going 60 mph instead of the 8 mph of Rob Young.
From this Darren's Athlinks profile, he is a slow triathlete that has done Ironman events (slowly) so he knows all about watch data.
If you want to gag, watch one of this Darren character's "training" videos for how he prepared for a run across America. He doesn't even run ffs, just weights and an elliptical! Those big biceps will sure come in handy! And he lets slip that he's going to write a book and give speeches about his "inspiring" run. This is the standard charity runner scam except there is not even any charity this time! This is a complete selfish run to enrich himself with sponsorships and paid appearances. It's totally narcissistic.
There is major funny business going on with Darren Kavinoky's Twitter account. It shows he is following 396K people and have 807K followers. With that many people he is following it is obvious he is using an automated bot to follow random people in hopes they follow back and then unfollow them if nothing happens or he needs to stay under the Twitter spam limits.I also checked out the profiles of some of those 807K "followers" and some of them are obviously fake bot accounts that only follow others and have no or nonsensical Tweets and use auto generated user IDs and profiles, such as Hridoy30509390, KartarS81523075, Abhiraj704382, etc... I say around 20% of Darren's "followers" are obviously like this from a cursory glance at his recent followers so it looks like he is buying a lot of fake followers.What's more, if you check out his YouTube page, you will see that he only has 355 subscribers and the vast majority of his narcissistic videos have 100 views or less right now. Google has much better spam and fake bot detection than Twitter so you can see just how phony Darren's Twitter account looks.

At a glance when prospective sponsors are taking a look, it makes it look like these frauds are really popular, and most of these sponsors funding these muppets seem too dim to figure out they are being had over

I just came across this thread thinking it was an old thread but as soon as I clicked on it, I was surprised to see this guy b/c he followed me on twitter a while back several months or maybe a year now...I barely go on there anymore (I followed him back b/c I recognized him as the host of Deadly Sins (oh Lordy, I'm giving away my secrets...lol). Hard to say where Darren is exactly since he does not provide GPS tracking or even daily posts about his progress (very suspicious). All his social media have very little detail about the running. But I've done a bit of digging and have some useful information.
We know from Darren's Facebook post that he started the run on April 19th, 2017 at the Santa Monica Pier. Then on Twitter, he posts that he finishes the run for April 28th in Palm Springs and is taking the next day off (no signs of any sweat or fatigue in any photos). Between these two dates is 10 days with two of these days being rest days according to their plan on CNN. So 8 days worth of actual running.
From Google Maps, the route between Santa Monica Pier and Palm Springs is between 121-129 miles. We will just say 125 miles for simplicity.
That means Darren is averaging just 15.6 miles per day on days he is supposed to be running and a miserable 12.5 miles per day for all days included. This proves that his claim to CNN that he will be averaging 40-50 miles per day with his trainer is completely false. Not even in the same ball park. And this is with him starting fresh.
At the current rate of progress, Darren will require 8 months to complete the drive.....I mean, run. Far longer than his publicized 3 months claim to CNN.
So if you want to know where Darren is right now at the end of April 30th, he should be about 15.6 miles east of Palm Springs, California.
