Ches has been sidelined by ICE agents in Oregon who hauled him in last week for over staying his visa that expired in December. Phil Knight has been furiously negotiating his release but he is on Trump's shiite list for being such a strong supporter of the TPP.

Goe is one of two (maybe, full time paid RUNNING / track and field reporters left in the USA.
He's not given the budget to develop other sources.
He's on record with being told Oregon doesn't report on track athletes injuries. Which is a common college practice.
Ken Goe is a treasure to this sport.
You'll miss him when he retires and the Oregonian reduces their track coverage.
If by "covering the sport " you mean assembling other track web sites in a single location, I guess you call him a track journalist. But of course Track and Field News and even LetsRun do that, and better.
When he actually writes something, Goe brings a baseball writers understanding and sensibilities to his track coverage. He has no feel for the sport. Further he is always triying to go Canzano with his faux controversies and rivalries. At least Canzano pretends to have independent sources, not waiting for Some SID Intern to email him a story.
Goe takes prefab press releases and videos, chops them up like he has asked the tough questions and writes banalities and drivel.
I won't miss him because I gave up on him years ago.

We were walking on Pre's Trail this morning, and Ches passed three times going a hundred miles per hour (you get the drift). I think you can put the injury rumors to rest.
... and Flotrack has jumped into this story, claiming Cheserek is out of the relays to go "all in" in the Payton Jordan 5k.
Penn Relays respond that Cheserek was never entered in their meet.
