He is already retired. There are elite marathoners that average 120-160 miles per week and not at slug like paces.
He's having fun. This is not a major accomplishment that even a guy like me could not easily complete.
This was never going to be the start of a comeback.
I wish people would just leave this guy in peace and recognize that he is just enjoying life now and no longer competing.
His stats say he ran 211.7 miles. Where did the extra marathon come from? And if so, probably his biggest week of miles ever, came after he had effectively retired.

Has not Ryan Hall done enough so that he can really do what he likes now without the burden of expectation? Hall has run several top class marathons including majors at London and Boston, went to two Olympic games, finished top 10 in arguably the greatest Olympic marathon so far, won an Olympic Trial race in dominant fashion, ran sub 60 for the 1/2 marathon, this list could go on.
Ryan Hall's so called low T levels are 100% in his head. If you can run 7 marathons in 7 days in 7 different countries that means your endocrine system is more or less functioning normal. Ryan, go back to being the best and stop with the stunts. You are much better than that!
look, there were really two (or more) Ryans (in one body) running, if you know what I mean. So no wonder his time was x2 as well ...
Not disappointing at all the guy is a loser he claims to be so high-and-mighty but is absolute jerk to any fans or anybody who would ever pretend to be a fan or fellow Christians who would like to share their faith with him he just slams the door no personality at all in addition he never had any gumption to be in the lead of any race when it counted all sure he'd lead for the first 13 miles that means nothing he was never in the race when it counted in the end never throwing a punch going toe-to-toe with those guys when it counted nothing but disrespect for Ryan Hall glad he's gone hope we never hear from him again

So let's see. The guy has a history of withdrawals from races and DNFs...gives up professional marathon..has run 2:04...led the race and made the Kenyans and Ethiopians respect him at London Marathon...runs 30 miles a week MAYBE and then does 7 marathons in 7 days...

The guy doesn't owe you, or any of us, shit. It sounds like the last one was extremely difficult to even finish. He went out the way he wanted. He earned the right to do that.
He owes all of us a lot. Here we sit on our computers - some in offices, some in basements - and we expect a lot from others. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go and complain about the latest Star Wars movie.
I'm neither disappointed nor surprised. Running 7 marathons in 7 days takes a very different skill-set than that required to be an elite marathoner. And Hall isn't that marathoner anymore.
I'll tell you what's really disappointing: People who don't understand the verb tenses of "to run".

So, big shots, would you rather be Hall with his 2:04 and then this 5:15, or would you rather be you?

Haha exactly. If anything I'm glad Ryan Hall has the courage and self-respect to know that he pushed himself to the total limit his body can handle. It would be kind of sad to see him attempt to get back in shape only to suffer dissapointment again.

Yes, but even though he he technically qualified for the Boston Marathon, he probably didn't run fast enough to actually get in.
