If we had more strict bans for dopers, Lyles would be going. In no way should Gatlin be on the Olympic team with his history. Imagine trying to stay motivated after you miss out on an Olympic berth at 18 because of a two-time doper.

Martin's 20.13 run in the TX state meet is actually a 20.0 hand-time, on May 11, 1985, according to the TX state meet website. So, that 20.13 is not an HSR. Martin did run 20.13 a month later in Indianapolis on June 16, 1985--after TX HS graduation, and at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Nope. The University Interscholastic League has an electronic time of 20.13 on Martin's run in Dallas and has already submitted the result to the NFHS (which reflects itself in their list of national records)

Wrong. The official TX state meet results are the official results. Look like someone did a 200m math conversion to turn 20.0 into 20.13 and called it a FAT time. Oops.

But even so, an FAT conversion adds .24, which means Martin's 20.0 would have become a 20.24, so where's the other .11?..... Oops!

Texas did not use FAT timing for the State Meet until 1995. That is all you need to know.
