That he always blasts the last lap shows that he could run faster if he wanted to.

My 3 claims:

1) He does no more than necessary to win.

2) He never tries to run fast.

3) Just sits and kicks.

For "how many" to point out I was wrong, he would have needed to show that:

1) He does more than necessary to win.

2) He does try to run fast.

3) He doesn't sit and kick.

Cheserek - won by over .5 seconds (that's doing more than enough to win); he ran a 13:25 (that is evidence of "trying to run fast" as it's only 7 seconds off his PB and he currently is not close to 100% - WTF - do you expect him to PB while coming back from an injury before he's totally fit??); "just" sit & kicks?? - he was in the top 3 and even led (though briefly) throughout the race yesterday but the bigger point is different runners have different strategies and tactics, and Cheserek has been extremely successful in leveraging his 800/1500 speed against the competition so his tendency is not to run from the front (though Murphy in the 1500 does the same thing). On the other hand, when you are peaking three times over the year & WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS and contributing to team championships this strategy has proven as effective and made him the most successful runner in NCAA history (tied actually for titles).

So, How many takes down your #1 & #2, but I'll grant you got #3 though I'd say that's a pretty hollow victory for you (trying to

I have yet to see a Ches race that I have found interesting. At his current level, there is no one that could beat him. So, when I watch his races, all I see is just another Kenyan winner. Pretty boring.

The guy is tiny--cannot be more than 5'6", 120--and how he musters such a kick is beyond me. Incredible. To me, he is built for endurance, and so I could see someone like Ches having a great last 10k in a marathon, but the 5k/10k kick he has is stunning. He looks like a speck on the track, and yet runs like a bull in the last laps. And the way he keeps his arms down near his hips is also very strange looking.

All he does is win races.
