They have to coordinate Nike's story, Salazar's story, USATF/IAAF reason for no sanctions, and the lawyers have to make it air tight. That takes time.

How quickly do you think a team of lawyers can analyze, thoroughly and accurately, emails and the like from more than a decade? It takes time to do so without error.

When these allegations are proved to be without merit, what will your response be? Will you continue to beat the drum on the thyroid issue but only with respect to Galen and not the rest of US distance runners who are also on the same medicine?

This website and the boards have their flaws, but kudos to the Brojos for carrying the anti-doping flag as staunchly as they have.

What worries me greatly is the relationship between the USATF, Nike, and NOP. Seems like they're all in bed with each other and have a vested interest in covering this up or making it go away as quickly as possible.

As with the Lance apologists, when the walls inevitably come crumbling down, they'll be nowhere to be found.

Come on. Saying they blackmail people is silly. I agree it is people reputations/lives/etc, but at least be honest and note the amount of people coming forward as well as the duration of the accusations is quite long. As for making people scared about doping accusations, the simple fact that you must drug test should do that. I don't think that this sight is bringing out anything more than what the running community wonders. I think most importantly, a lot of the NOP's competitors wonder that. They don't deserve to know what is going on?

So, it is peoples lives. If the NOP are doing things they shouldn't knowingly, they are taking away from the livelihood of all those competing to do it cleanly. So yes, an explanation or discussion is warranted.

With respect to the time frame, Salazar/Rupp isn't being tried in a court. It is in the media. So why would lawyers be necessary? A simple explanation would be fine. As I understand it, USADA/WADA haven't started a doping trial against him, so is it really necessary to take such a long time?

All correct; accordingly, I think that instead of trying to put pressure directly on Nike, the better strategy is to put pressure on Mo and on Mo's agent Ricky Simms to distance themselves from AlSal. I think they're both currently in more vulnerable positions than Nike, but if they decide to bail on AlSal, I think Nike will too.

Litigation involves discovery. I bet the lawyers are going through all internal communications. That would be especially true if they plan to sue anyone.

The story today is a PR problem. I wish the guy would just say I think Alberto used androgel on Galen. That would be better than these accounts that don't come out and say that.

I'm a supporter of LetsRun. I love the attitude of putting dopers away and getting the facts...but Rojo and Wejo are just fueling the fire of how this site is unfair and bias. You guys don't get it.

Even if I was a liar against Alberto it has nothing to do with the charges leveled against him. They are not from me.

People shoot the messenger when they don't like the message.

There is little doubt that Alberto and Galen and Nike have convened a team of top lawyers who will come out swinging. I pity those who may not be able to back up some of the statements they have made, because Nike's lawyers are the very best and they have a great deal of experience in dealing effectively to remove any threat to the company and its interests. Your "calendar" comes off as a bit ingenuous, especially since we all know that Alberto will not be maing any "statements" from here out. "See you in Court" is the approach they are taking at this point. The damage has been done to Alberto and Galen (and to a lesser degree to a few others). The parties are fully cognizent of this, so now it is the long trudge through the legal system. Mark my words, in 2 or 3 years, we will be seeing apologies, retractions and, yes, some fairly large civil suits against a few of these folks.

The allegations are piling up at this point, but what is the end game? What is the next step taken to address these allegations (if any step is taken) and who might oversee that process?

It is apparent now that USADA has been made aware of Salazar's group for years, but they seemingly have not found sufficient evidence to take action. In light of the recent allegations presented en masse, will they now take action with some sort of hearing?

What is USATF's responsibility in all of this? Would they be the one's to call for some sort of hearing - or at least call for USADA to do so?

The absence of any organizational response to all of this honestly is bizarre to me. Do you think the NFL, MLB, or NBA would remain virtually silent in light of allegations against their brightest starts?

To Wejo. I wear Nike Pegasus, what should I switch to. It is funny that you posted this because I had just talked to running friends I would never wear nike stuff again. This is just the last straw And not just for NOP stuff but the fact they Sponsor Gatlin and all the cheating sprinters and lance Armstrong and just about any cheating athlete there is. I do like their new commercials though.
