Testoboost and Androgel - common among American elite runners

Well the creator of the chart was not Alberto nor Galen so it's plausible to think that he was not privvy to his entire regimen?

I don't entirely buy your idea that if you cheat you must cheat to the end of the earth. I'm sure Alberto has a line of what's ethical and legal and just in his head and maybe boosting Testosterone to within a legal range was on his side of righteous. But EPO was just right out.

There is a slight difference between an 1) OTC supplement (Testoboost) that contains no banned PEDs or substances and 2) Rx testosterone (Androgel) which is obviously a banned PED and for which one cannot receive a TUE.

Ummm, that is version IV. The original version came out in 2000.

If Rupp was simply taking Testoboost, then why not write that on the chart? Makes more sense than writing testosterone.

There is just one problem. From what I can see Testoboot is legal. It doesn't even need a prescription. The report Magness saw said "testosterone" probably because that is what Testoboot is. It boosts production of testosterone. Its not really even a mistake by the doctor who wrote it up back in 01'This is the problem. The doping agencies say they don't condone doping in any shape or form. Except that they do allow certain doping. The T&F rules for doping appear to be like our tax system. The IRS says you are supposed to pay taxes on all your income from all sources. Except that if you contribute to a 401K you are not paying taxes on all your income. there a million other loopholes as well. Furthermore, if there is a tax benefit you want but it doesn't exist in the IRS code, powerful people with access to politicians can get that loophole. Or simply appeal to the IRS to rule in their favor. I look on this as a classic case of - don't blame the player, blame the game.

Get used to the fact that NOP is DONE. Start worrying about how to help the NOP athletes who are implicit as top-level insiders (Rupp, Farah, maybe Centro) to rebuild their lives.

LOL ... I thought the NOP fanboys were crying that Magness' photo was faked. Now you have a supplement program you think is the one the top dogs at NOP were using. You don't have it.

I have the nutritional supplement programme that NOP used 10 years ago. Yes, I do. All the nutritional supplements - like Testoboost - were WADA approved. Now, I have no idea if they were doing anything else that violated doping rules, but yes I have the nutritional supplement programme.

Haha. Define 'banned.' They don't test for exogenous Test unless the athlete crosses the 4:1 threshold. A little Androgel isn't going to trip the threshold.

Never tested positive!!!!! That stuff works wonders.

By the way, the notation on the chart that Magness took a picture of does not say that Rupp was on "testosterone". It says "prednisone and testosterone medication". Significant difference.

Nice try, but as I'm sure you know, that horse left the LRC barn a long time ago. That's a damn shame. Testaboost seems like the perfect example of the NOP approach to gray areas. It's not a banned substance, but it's being used with the hope that it will mimic the effect of a banned substance, in this case testosterone.

Or, testoboost is being used in addition to improper drugs as a masking agent.

This is so muddled that I am starting to think that "ryan foreman" is a handle created by someone who regularly posts under a different handle and uses the ryan foreman identity to mess with people.

* There is no such product as "Testoboot."

* Testoboost contains ingredients that are not legal, as dealt with elsewhere on the forum.

* You say yourself that Testoboost is probably synonymous with testosterone (which it is not, and which would clearly make it illegal), and then state that it boosts production of testosterone. So Testoboost is testosterone, which is both banned and not banned and boosts production of testosterone?

* The prescription was written in 2002, not 2001 (this is easily the least egregious of your errors).

I have no idea what happened. I would like to hear more. There is a lot to go through. As to the records. it is possible that the chart says testosterone when he meant testoboost. I used to work in a field with medical records and people do make mistakes on charts a lot. How probable? I don't know but it does seem pretty silly to document your cheating so explicitly. If you are cheating you might code it something else in case the document were discovered as it was.

Again, they could be totally guilty with the androgel,etc.
