Lol, it's not 1850 anymore bud. The idea that schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc. aren't real health issues that require actual medicine is reserved these days for miserable conspiracy theorists.

Are today's drugs over prescribed? Absolutely. Are they completely useless? Of course not. And although some of these drugs do "mask" issues, sometimes that's the most effective route. Not everyone can take a multiple-year sabbatical from life to meditate in the woods.

Synthetic vitamins are not needed either, just health, nothing else.

The legs of that man at Comrades look like someone using plenty of Testosterone. Testosterone is the best known natural antidepressant. It works great, until you go off it.

It doesn't take a genius to understand what was going on and why the guy has had such highs and lows. You mess with your hpta you get the horns.

The meds helped him go back to his previous levels, they didn't increase his performance. When you are depressed you find it difficult to do anything, let alone do it well.The fatigue caused by depression can sometimes be offset by proper medication.So, there's no performance boost in PEDs sense, more, it allows you to get back to your pre-depression potential.

Similar thing happened to me a few years ago at Bonnaroo. Don't think it was bad E (or actually MDMA), I just think I did too much or my brain didn't handle it how it should have. Felt really anxious and nervous for 6 months afterwards but it eventually went away on it's own (maybe with some Xanax).

This happened to a rather well know entrepreneur and VC in tech. He was suicidally depressed for 6 months. There are controlled experiments going on using E to treat PTSD. It's on youtube.

Regarding this socalled "battle" AS had with Jeff Nelson. I wasn't there, I read it was a yelling match / rage thing. A Battle? That term to me is more suited to the movies or war.

He's also a badass from Boston, on a certain level. Like a lot of celebrities, his acts of kindness (some of which I've seen in the past year plus, and some of which teammates have told me about in the past year) don't get the publicity he's rough edges do.)

Go watch the on stage interview he did with RW when 14 mins came out. It's pretty self effacing stuff.

Al guy is a grade A a$$hole, from his competitive days through today.

Furthermore, hardly anyone at Oregon knows you and those that do want nothing to do with you. Stop acting like you are part of the program.

The stories are rare and most are exaggerations. Been there, done that, coming off was no problem after 26 months of Prozac. It didn't help or hinder my performances at all (1:47+ at 800 meters).

Someone correct me if I am wrong (and please don't make me go find the passage in the book), but I think he took Prozac was in the early nineties immediately preceding his Comrades victory and years after his 80-84 peak.

And you must be an ignorant Luddite fool who hasn't heard of the science of genetics or biochemistry.

I had a chance meeting with Salazar once and he came off as a decent guy. He didn't kiss my ass or anything nor did I expect him to. I read all these stories about him and it was a good lesson. Most people commenting here have probably never met him and are talking out of their ass.

SSRis have been constantly reported to be no better than a placebo effect. If i was to give you a magic red and white pill and tell you it would improve your mile times, you could easily knock off 15 seconds a mile at 5:00 pace. Considering Salazar could run 4:50 a mile for 24 miles I am sure running a couple of mile repeats in 4:45 is pretty easy.
