Sorry, it's local slang for Seattle.
Why a female nickname?

Or how 'bout US military installations or embassies? Be pretty cool to claim you were born at Gitmo. Or at the U.S. consulate in... east dirtystan.

Those bears are definitely uncool.
Too bad US doesn't run a maternity ward in Antarctica...
Argentina does, though:

Rethink that. What's come from there?
Eldoret far more appropriate if you're referring to running.
Whenever I tell people on the east coast (where I now live) I'm from Colorado, they always comment positively and say they want to visit. Don't know if it will measure up to the hype, but it definitely raises interest.

You're telling me that out of anywhere in the entire country, you would be proudest to say that you're from El Paso?

Austin WAS a cool place to live in the the 1980s.
But then it became cool to live there and now it's too expensive with shitty traffic.
I'd tell you, but that wouldn't be cool.
NYC, San Fran, La Jolla, Santa Monica, Malibu, Aspen, Jackson Hole, non-Honolulu HI,
Second Tier: Boulder, Seattle, Chicago (now), Miami, Portland (now), Nashville (now), Austin (now), Bend/Bellingham/Asheville/etc
Boulder? Boulder sucks ... I live 45 minutes away and work 15 minutes away. I rarely go there because of the suckage.

San Francisco (not SF, Frisco or San Fran.......San Francisco!)
(Herb Caen hated the word 'Frisco' but I'm sure he would have hated the latest term, 'San Fran,' even more. Every time I heard some sportscaster say San Fran I cringe. Born and raised in 'The City.')
Not many places are in the middle....Love SF, NYC, Denver, SD, Seattle, Pittsburgh
