If Uceny was hit from behind, whoever did it must be sanctioned. It simply must NOT be acceptable to make contact IN ANY WAY with another runner from behind who is running properly. Not from behind. Not even a little bit. It's either a sport of tactics and positioning or it isn't. No grey area here. Runners simply have to GIVE THE OTHER COMPETITORS ROOM or be disqualified.
Once again, a great runner has put the time in to get into amazing shape only to get taken out by someone from behind. It would be beyond classy for whoever caused Morgan to fall to come forward and call the foul on themselves.

I am agreeing with you, Cain is not at fault. Sorry if that did not come through.
Uceny needs to move to marathon, she obviously can't handle any sort of contact
I have not seen the race but I do not get why people are saying this. I thought in the other two races someone fell right in front of her. I do not think it had to do with her back kick. It may be true that she should just go to the front and stay out of trouble like Centro often does. That could help.

help refresh memory of her 3 big falls.
I believe she once tripped over runner that fell ahead of her, twice was taken out from behind.
None of these were her fault or due to bad form/technique.
Tactically she tends to run in a good position in 2nd or 3rd just outside the shoulder of the leader(s). Maybe best for avoiding being boxed in and trapped in the pack, but it may expose her to all sorts of people trying to make moves to the front from the back of the pack, and runner up on her from behind.
This year she seemed to put her self up there near the front a bunch and in position to win. She then would fade in a lot of races but recently seemed to be holding on and placing better. (as her fitness improved?) She runs with confidence and her tactics suggest she felt she should be in the race and try to win. Based on past successes, how can anyone fault her for that?
Hoping there was no injury from the fall.
She does not need to change technique or races. Just needs to get back out there and I hope she does well later in the summer.

I really thought Uceny had a shot pre-race. Very unfortunate.
Who cares, she went down, she has gone down before, it happens, she is prone to it happening, nothing looked like it was due to obviously poor running tactics from others such as during the indoor championships.
Move on, but don't let Rojo make a false story about this race as if it was real and actually of some importance. I'm sure the next time he interviews Cain he will ask if she thought she tripped her competitor and should be stripped of her medal as a result.
@ 2:19.4 looks like Ucency left leg on the back kick maybe brushes up against Mcgee hip but for sure her foot lands on Mcgees foot and she goes down. Megee was pretty close but it didn't seem to be any previous contact before the fall
You know, Hasay had Gabe literally run up the back of her and she didn't fall. Again pretty incidental and Ucency goes down. At least she got back and finished. Got to be as much mental now as working in tight space.
PhyMech...did you watch the first 150 meters of the women's 800 meter run, if you did? How many runners should of been DQ (watch towards the back)? A couple of runners were kicked worst the Morgan but didn't go down. Sometime is wrong with Morgan formed??what I don't know!..but enforcing pitty rules won't help her from falling in the future!

LetRun does not agree with the video evidence that was already clear from anyone who saw the race. The LR take is that Alberto stuck his head inside of a tent and said do not DQ Cain for her immaculate trip and this is the only reason she will retain her medal.

There is no way she will run a different distance every, she's stubborn, she hardly ran XC in HS and picked a college she didn't have to run it at and still able to run track. My take is the falls are karma for being stupid and a little lazy. Most other 1500 runners do some other races and try to get as fast of 5k's as they can as they know strength helps. Morgan not so much. Never liked her much.
