So what? What Salazar would or wouldn't do is irrelevant. Molly clearly didn't feel a protest was warranted, and neither did her coach. In fact, it sounded like it never even crossed her mind. It's a non-issue.
Rowbury's tactic was dirty. Stop defending her. It is a sign of a weaking runner who has become a very poor sport.
She definitely would not have done the same thing, and only said that to be gracious.

Shutting the door on lane 1 is fine. Then moving out to lane 2 is the no-no. If you read the rules you are to maintain a straight line down the home straight and are locked in. Moving outside of that to impede a runner is reason for DQ.
She won and was being nice. But if you are going to race at the highest level of our sport that is minor stuff. You just need to swing way wide and go for home. People do that stuff all the time.
Thats one of the reasons I thought Shannon shouldn't have joined the NOP. Anybody training with Salazar will recieve hate and mistrust. Molly needs to toot her own horn more, She had a fantastic year, national champion, but in every interview she is like " its no big deal", she should celbrate her victories more, unless she horrible secret that eating at her conscious.
Also, watch Shannons Interview after the race by letsrun. She was all "well I beat Molly in the 3k multiple times so" I use to love her, now she is just rubbing me the wrong way. Must be the Salazar effect.

Could you imagine the chaos of letting lead runners drift? What is there were other runners, besides Huddle, making a charge to pass Rowbury? A pile up would have occurred. What if there were a group of 4x400 runners charging to the last handoff, and the dying lead runner drifted across the first two lanes? Disaster!

What on Earth are you talking about? I'm not justifying anything. Molly shared her feelings on the matter, and they were unequivocal. Maybe the officials should have DQed Shannon, but Molly clearly feels that a DQ wasn't warranted. She even went so far as to say that she would've done the same thing herself.
