An in-shape Rudisha would crush them all. Seeing him battle them at a slower pace is interesting but it is not the same as seeing him run 1:41 or 1:42 like it was nothing. Based on the season so far, the top of the card has to be the women's 1500 and 2 mile, and the men's mile (which Leer is gonna WIN in a Rocky Balboa moment). The men's 400 is loaded too. Yes the 800 is my favorite event but they're just not up to speed yet.

Kaki, Rudisha, and Solomon are front runners.

Amos and Aman are late-race kickers.

How do YOU think this race will play out?

Me thinks the front runners will gun it but get caught by Amos and Aman around 600m - and it will be a repeat of Doha. Amos is very close to being able to beat Aman. He was leading in Doha with a few meters left.

With Rudisha - no top-flight runner has ever come back to his old form after this length of injury.This includes Bekele and Geb. This will be a changing-of-guards race where Rudisha is eclipsed by the emerging star, Amos, who will rule the 800m world for the time being.

Rudisha will fade int the last 100-150 meters in a dejected manner. He will never be the same again. The mental part will break him down.

it figures to be a great race.

wonder boy kaki, he's been off his game for a while. he's capable of 141 but probably more like 143 now.

aman is the most stable pick, he's always there, looks to be a 142 flat guy but regularly.

rudisha is a 139 guy that won't draft. rusty and figures to run 143 ish, though 142 is not out of the question because of the great field.

then you have amos, a sprinter that could run a 4 minute mile at age 16. after injury he's nearly taken out the second best 800 guy in the world in aman. as far as amos style of running if he can draft rudi and continue to progress, he's the first 139 guy.

the race itself, will it go out in 50 flat? if so, the 142 is on, if the weather is ok, i gotta think 142 high is the slowest the race can go, but you never know.

Kaki and Yeimer have actually trained together for a few weeks this year.

Apparantly Kaki was overall slightly better some things here and there, but there were one hard workout were Yeimer beat Kaki. Probably somewhat better than Yeimer now, wich will be interesting to see in Eugene.

This race is going to be a bit of a bust unless they get a pacer. With Rudisha not in the best of shapes, everyone will sit on him and it will be a 1:44 low race. Why is Matt Scherer not listed as the pacer??

They should just bring Bram Som, clearly the worlds best pacer.

Seems Sowinski might be a good choice for pacer through 500-550.

He was scheduled to run the Pre 800 and took the Asian tour over the World Relays(and an almost lock to get the outdoor AR)to position himself for Pre. Now with unexpected entries from Africans he finds himself looking to buy a ticket to the meet.
