Women's running was not far enough along for that comparison to be apt. Decker's indoor mile WR was 4:40. Cain bests that by 12 seconds. Also, let's not forget that Mary Decker's legacy is tarnished by DOPING. Or are you just gonna overlook that too?

Exactly this. When Ryun was a junior and senior in high school the women's 1500m WR was 4:19. Put Cain in that era with cinder tracks, less technology or what ever excuse you may want to come up with to argue for a slower time, and she would still obliterate 4:19 and any women then by a ton.

Cain is an also ran. Decker was not. There is no "also".

Yes, it was serious. You're entire comment is irrelevant since Ryun didn't run those times IN HIGH SCHOOL. Yes, the competition was weaker and less deep in the 60s. Are you really trying to argue against that?
