Interestingly, whenever there is a shooting at a school, the danger seems to end when someone shows up with a GUN to stop the intruder.
Probably a conicidence.
Stop taking credit away from the attack dogs!

Are you sure of those numbers? They seem a little suspect to me. Oh, what was I thinking? The truth does not matter to liberals when they spout "facts". Only the rhetoric matters.
Those numbers wouldn't be far off.
It's about 400 gun deaths in the US for every one in the UK, probably even more in Aus due to the lower population.
Actually, if you'd travel a little and leave your beloved U.S. once in a while, you'd be stunned to discover that in other countries, gun control is not a "liberal" idea, it's an adult consensus shared across the political spectrum. And FYI, the American gun lobbyists are the ones trying to keep facts out of the debate, because when you begin to tally deaths by murder and compare to countries where gun ownership is prohibited, you understand why gun control is a consensus in other countries.

He was also a professional, would the same thing happen with some Joe off the street, most likely all get shot
I wonder if this would have happened if those attackers didn't have access to a plethora of guns.

No, gun control would just have resulted in the coach being disarmed, and one possibly dead coach and two possibly kidnapped/raped/dead girls.

Yes, but we're the only free country in the world, the rest of you just believe what your version of the Democratic party tells you to think.
Hey LaDouche-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rateMight want to run those numbers again. It'd be more like 68-20 (combined, which is what I believe you were trying to say), not 68-0. So though higher, you're ignorant statement shouldn't go unchecked.

What do you expect. It was DETROIT! It doesn't matter if it was at a school or not. That whole place is a cesspool. If you don't carry concealed there, you're stupid.
I am anti-gun in almost every way.
Here is one example where a legally purchased gun with a legal permit may have have helped.
I don't think those boys were actually about to kill anyone but the shooting in self defense was justified as the situation was life threatining.
These stories where a gun was useful are pretty rare.
I will give credit here.
But still, the vast majority of gun incidents do not have any positive details.

Other than guns and freedom, what does the US have that these other countries don't?

I agree with you for the most part, but I am of the opinion that if you aggressively attack someone - for money, the knockout game, whatever - you accept the risk that you will be killed. Deservedly so, too. There should be absolutely no patience for that kind of behavior.
I don't care if they only wanted wallets. The second they display some kind of aggression, the coach should have every right to blow them away.

Good to see we can win at something.

Cite one instance in which that has happened.
Those other countries are mostly emasculated she-men.

Two guys approach, one has a gun out and trained on the old man, but the old guy gets the drop on both of them? Maybe. Maybe not.
Could be the attacker's gun wasn't loaded and they figured that brandishing it was enough to get compliance. Could be the old guy (experienced with using guns) pretended to be compliant and while the dude with the gun wasn't paying attention, grabbed his own gun and shot the guy. He then shot the other dude too who may or may not have had a gun.

for whatever it is worth, in my job i deal with people with guns and people that have killed. in MY experience the gun is almost always loaded.
the guns that get brandished that are not loaded are almost always bb guns that look like real guns.
just one guy's experience, but as i said, if its real, it is very likely loaded.
