2012: 2:21:30 at Philadelphia
Ran: 2:09 8:00, 4:11 1500, 8:40 3000, and 15:15 in 2009 while in college.
Post collegiate: 14:48 (2011 last year).
Ryan is a marathoner, plain and simple. This kid tried to break 15:00 more than a dozen times between 2009 and 2011 and only once did it (multiple 15:10-15:20 type times).
He's never broken 25:00 for 8k to my knowledge (more like 25:15) and his half PR is barely under 1:10 (1:09:54 from this past fall before Phili... so he was near peak shape).
Amazing that this kid could run 1:10 on 9/23 and then a month and a half later run 2:21:30.
A pure marathoner.

You wouldn't be the only one. My friend never broke 15 and nearly got the OT standard, and I still don't think he could break 15. Another is like 15:40 / 2:24, but I think he could beat his 5k time now.

All of those would DESTROY current records. Even add two minutes across the board and it's still suspicious.
I got that time from Chris Kelsall's interview with you. He listed your PBs and I think I saw the 8km time and mistook the "24" for "14" then took it as a 5km time. Sorry to have sped you up accicentally.
I have to be the slowest. I have run 2:17 and 2:19 this year. My 5K PR is 15:20, 3K 8:43, and mile 4:22. However, hoping to drop the marathon PR this weekend at Chicago!

Wow! Do you race seriously at any of those shorter distances, i.e., do you think your times are pretty much as good as you can do?
HRE, I do race hard at the shorter distances too! I am pretty pathetic at them though. I think if I put more time into them and timed a peak, like I do for the marathon I could run a little faster.
As for training; you may have guessed it: high mileage/ double days everyday/ a variety of workouts sprinkled in during the week from tempos to track to hills to fartleks and a good weekly long run. As Bruce Denton would say, the secret is the consistency.
