I've also noticed the slowish times- men's 100 only 1 under 10? Men's 400 was a bit slow.

2. Drug testing is getting better and more athletes will be clean.

The 100 was slow because they were running into a headwind.
Bolt screwed himself. He jumped, period. Blake had nothing to do with it. If Blake had flinched it would have been picked up by the sensor on the blocks. Bolt left .104 before the gun.
There is nothing wrong with false start rule...one and your done. Why are you false starting in the first place? Do not anticipate the gun, react to the gun!

Bolt false started two years ago in Berlin.
The contact in the hurdles doesn't necessarily happen all the time, but it's not as if it never happens. Perry should have been disqualified for her impedement of Kallur in Osaka, but the Swedish team spent too much time trying to obtain the video evidence, and missed out on the protest window.
Hooker's year has been so bad that he's only had one competition this season. Isinbayeva has lost her nerve (as was seen last year).
But back to the question of false starts, they shouldn't be seen as surprises. Any entrant in the straight dashes (flat and impeded) are at risk of false starting. Ohuruogu jumping the gun in the 400m was much more of a surprise.
You people complain about everything.
I've enjoyed virtually every moment of this Championship. Minus the piss poor form of the Aussies and the bad coverage of the men's 10,000m.
Call me strange but I enjoy seeing someone other then the favourite winning.
