I agree that good coaching helps. But modern technological devices? Like what? A car to drive to the run location, a pair of running shoes and a digital watch to time it. It ain't magic. The Mammoth Track club doesn't do anything technologically amazing.

Accusing someone of drugs because they run fast is pretty weak. OP - give us your name so we can publicly accuse you of something anonymously with no proof.

Here is the progression: just where is there the suspicious pieces? Three years to go from 2:00.01 to 1:58.37 is an improvement of 0.55 seconds/year. I'm not accusing M'an Juiceny of doping, but it is my opinion that M'an is doping. It's more of a hunch based on her thick neck, ripped shoulders, and manly jawline. How is that weak?

Not sure what you're seeing. I've seen her in person. She's small, and there's nothing manly about them.

To the people who say Uceny improved "too much" from one year to another after turning pro--guess what? Improvements happen, big improvements even, and naturally, too.

This year, a talented collegian chipped almost a full second off his 800 pr, running 1:44.71 to win the NCAA championships. Last year, an accomplished graduate chopped his 1500 time down to 3:30.90.

Training accrues. Your body remembers. This year's times are a function of more than this year's efforts. So is it so hard to believe that the work a talented athlete put in this year, last year, and the year before is now paying dividends?

Look man it doesn't matter what I say on this board, this athlete is going to be on TV at the World Championships soon enough, and I won't be the only one wondering if she's legit. People will also wonder about David Oliver, Pharmalita, and several others.

As far as promoting American track and field, isn't that Nike/NBC's job? It certainly isn't mine. We all have rights to express our opinions.

Personally I just want the sport to be clean. People that don't have typical physiques are unfortunately tainted by others who have gone before them and cheated. As a final thought, it is very, very difficult for a woman to get that ripped naturally and the neck and face remind me of Regina Jacobs.

Maybe this just debate just means a new level of depth for American distance runners. It used to be that if an American had a prayer of making a final, everyone knew who they were and exactly what they were doing (because that was our best runner). Now it is expected that our top runners will make finals (when they don't, they either don't know how to race, peaked to early, etc...). Morgan wasn't too far off of these women last year either though. She won an indoor championship in the 1500 either last year or 2 years ago in dominant fashion. It just so happens that if you are the best in America now, you are a threat to medal. Right now you could be a potential world's finalist in the USA, but be stuck as an unknown because you finished fourth at nationals.

Many people on letsrun cast some accusations around, some of them are spiteful and baseless.. others are closer to the bone.

Many people (not necessarily those on this thread) accuse Jamican sprinters, Russian middle distance women, spanish runners etc etc on the basis:

-they are fast

-we don't know much about them

As someone looking on it is very easy to view the current wave of American Middle Distance women the same way.. so while I have no particular view on Morgan.. as a function of the whole environment (the emergence of Pierce, Vessey, Donahue, Barringer, Rowberry, Uceny.. etc ) and as a result if the US drugs history, I tend to view the whole group with suspicion.

I don't see what you're seeing. Ok, she's no Shannon Rowberry. But that doesn't mean she's using. I saw her interviewed after her last diamond league win and I thought she seemed quite feminine and sweet. Don't dump on her because she's not "hot".

if only you knew how hard she worked to get there you wouldn't be surprise and I know of someone who had the same improvement and she wasn't on drugs. for me I strongly believe that she is NOT on drugs. I am Ucency fan for live. I am not an American but I like her commitment. Believe in your own athletes to give them courage.

Doped to the gills. It's funny to see fanboys try to expain her huge drop in 1500 meter PR or unnatural jaw line.

Not a huge deal though, most of her competitors are also doped (Rowbury included).
