My best double in a dual meet:
4:44-1600
9:56-3200
1600m-3200m double
freshman year: 4:34-9:52
Soph year: 4:14-9:08
Junior year: 4:19-9:02
Senior year: 4:13-9:02
1500m-800m double:
3:49-1:53
4:26 1600 m......9:42 3200 m.....50.1 split in the mile relay....i anchored and came back from a 30 m deficit, we won...not exactly..i was disqualified b/c I wasn't on the track at the start of the relay....the official didn't disqualify me, the scumbag coach of the other team presented the issue to the official. You know how you feel after a 2 mile...ya need a warm down...7 yrs .....f...that coach....he can't appreciate a decent triple...to make it even worse, it was only a duel meet.......it's seventeen yrs later and I'm still scared!
I think I did the triple at almost every meet my senior year in HS:
in the 4 x 800 relay: 2:00 , and I was the slowest on the relay. Unfortunetly, this was good and bad. Since it hurt me for my later races, but we were ranked in the nation, so that was cool.
1600: 4:32:
3200: 9:58
Flagpole....that was pushing it running the Mile.
The Roc
don't laugh. it was 4:56 and 10:42.
3:56 (PR)/8:40ish (first, for points) in college. 15/3k, obviously.
I never doubled in HS, except to run 58 in the quarter on the 4x4 10 minutes after finishing the 3200.
So far, it looks like I was the slowest mile/2mile double on this thread 4:49/10:57, soph. yr. Never ran it in h.s. again!
But... 31 years later, I can honestly say I can run that double faster now! 2004 results 1500/3000 4:26/9:58
