Very true....if Goodridge was a BAD coach then EMU would not be ranked as high as they are in the nation. They proved themselves at Griak....we'll see how they do at regionals and Nationals. A bad coach has a bad team....EMU is not a bad team.

A coach can be bad and have a good team it just depends on who he has. Goodridge probably doesn't even coach Boaz (who is a great runner) Boaz probably coaches him. EMU may have 3 all Americans on that team by seasons end and many of those runners were recruted by Parks and developed by him. Even I can grab 5 footlocker finalist and have a good team. we will see in two years where he's at with his frosh. and walk-on's.

Personally, I am not too concern about spelling. Maybe the writer was a foreigner (nothing against them though, I am one and make lot of mistakes... but nothing to do with the school, just haven't spoken the language as long as same age american's!!), freshman, or just lazy to check there spelling, to relize the mistakes they make.

Aren't we all on this message board to talk about running?

Currently on EMU's roster there are 0 Footlocker finalists.

Considering they don't have Footlockers in Kenya...

I was kind of curious what the people against EMU wanted Eastern to do for what they've done wrong? (Whatever it was)

Maybe they could put on a self-imposed sanction restricting any conference and regional/national competition, take away the few scholarships they have....and then let the NCAA impose more sanctions against them.

Any other ideas? (i.e. expelling Boaz, etc...)

They could nullify Paul McMullen's National Championships for having attended Eastern Michigan.

they could also take away the the following conference titles

7 MAC CC championships in the last 12 years

7 Consecutive Mac indoor championships

9 Outdoor championships in the last 12 years including 5 0f the last 6

They could also take down the pictures of the multiple olympions. Earl jones bronze medal from LA olympics and destroy from the records all the all-americans over the years

I'm talking about how good his frosh. and walk on's will be in two years. I feel sorry for you if you didn't know what I ment.

I walked on two years ago, the last season Parks was there, that fall i thought i could train harder than i could, parks let me,and i ran myself into the ground, could barely run 6 miles when i went home for christmas(not doggin parks cuz he was cool and his record speaks for itself).......Goodridge came in after christmas and took me to 14:53 as a true frosh, 14:35 the next year(even though i was dumb and partied too much,) among other things.....i was a 16:20 xc 5k guy and one time ran 4:26, and 9:26 in hs, only times i was ever below 4:30 and 9:40......i think that speaks for itself........i am no longer there, but not because of John or the team, they are all awsome and i wish them the best of luck in the upcoming meets....

So I assume that you have lived your life perfectly, without mistake. Earl was a great runner, but he made some mistakes in life (I only know parts of the story). Why sit there in your world of shadows hiding behind a computer screen and rip on a person you only know becuase he could run 1:43 for 800 meters? The answer is you are a coward who lacts the character and integrity it takes to be a man and confront a person to their face rather than behind their back. Whats wrong with being a janitor anyway?

You fail to realize my point. All of you guys get on here and spout off all of these names of people who went to Eastern and ran these amazing times. However, you forget to mention what they are doing NOW. Case in point; Earl Jones. An olympic medalist for EMU but now a janitor at their fieldhouse. I agree that there is no shame in being a janitor but it's the circumstances in which he became a janitor. When you try to glorify your program you must also include what it does for it's athletes outside of the athletic arena. You guys have an Olympic medalist cleaning the toilets at Bowen fieldhouse after I come there to run and take a shit. If I were Earl I would be pretty pissed that the school I represented so well can't do any better for me. And if he made so many mistakes, how was eligible in the first place? I, and many others, would assume that he was one of the typical runners that EMU does everything imaginable to keep eligible, and when their work is done, they just get swept aside. To your program, you are just a time. Even in your last post, you HAD to mention that he ran 1:43. That's great, but he is still cleaning my shitty toilets. And that is not a knock on Earl but on the program. Eastern gets these guys (foreign and domestic), runs the shit out of them for 5 or 6 years (sometimes 7 or 8) and then kicks them out the back door, degree or no degree.

And if I am a coward then so are the rest of the pricks from EMU that write under false names. So get bent.
