How do you run a race un-technically?

You race like Alan Webb does a lot of times.

Thank you long sox. it took 11 posts before I could find WHERE the race was run.
Douglas, your comments are always interesting, thank you, but this one could have had clarity.
It was perfectly clear, to anyone following the sport at all.
I think that Kim is a terrific talent. She has the ability to go out and hammer ignoring the competition. Why doesn't she race this way in the marathon? I was frustrated watching her poor race tactics in New York.
I predict her to win Boston, IF she is the aggressor.

She might be like Ritz - just not a marathoner. They actually have similar bodies - very thin and and long legged. I wonder if (slightly) beefier people like Ryan Hall and K Goucher might make better marathoners
certainly not saying he knows anything at all but this is exactly what Scott Simmons espouses with keeping your mileage relatively stable and simply replacing workouts with races, and cutting the immediately preceding workout slightly. kinda what Mottram's old coach did, saying he was never more than 3 weeks away from peak fitness, but never doing a true taper either. sometimes it really works, other times you feel dead and don't recover. this was one of those good times. good for kim, great to see her have success and still be humble about it.
