    I get the impression he will attempt the 10k some day and get it, not to mention this indoor two mile record might be a hint towards a record he is going to try to go after during outdoors.

    I must say, after looking at these lists, I learned that Ritz actually has the US road 20k record. I thought he was completely wiped from the books.

    You're wrong. Shorter is American born because his parents are Americans. He could have been born in the Kremlin and he still would have been American by birth.

    It depends on how you define "top level runner". Lagat was beaten many times in NCAA competition. He improved greatly after that.
