1:12:30 (2nd attempt)
2:35:10 (3rd attempt)
Didn't follow race plan/Underperformed in both (rough last couple miles)! Goals are 1:10:59 and 2:29.

1:12:06- 2001
2:39:17- 1987 (first marathon) Hit the wall at 21 miles and and mostly walked and survival jogged to the finish line. I was well on my way to a sub 2:30 had I never crashed and burned that day.
1:17
2:46. This one still has some improvement to be made. Was in a lot better shape this year and just didn't have a good day in Chicago.

1:16
2:54 Twice- first time went out too fast, second time ran only 40 MPW to prepare.
66:46 - My first half ever a couple months ago ... I'll probably run my next one in November of 2011
And probably try a marathon in 2012 sometime
1:10:42
2:42 Ouch.
Have a 31:48 10k too. I hate marathons. (Or maybe they hate me)
1:20
2:48
Big negative splits on both
A few years ago I did a "study" of runners' half/full PRs and how it changed with weekly mileage.
not my finest piece of scientific research, but here you go.....

underperformed on both accounts.

This past year. Garbage marathon time.
1:09 (Have only run one of them)
2:34 (Have run 2 - both were 2:34; Philly & Boston)
I love reading everyone's excuses after their times.
For me:
1:15 (was not as fast as I hoped I was)
2:52 (still was not as fast as I hoped I was)
Graph of posts so far:
Pretty clear correlation. And some serious outliers who ran terrible marathons!

I'm a woman and both were at 43 y.o. - been slowly downhill since then I'm afraid
Thanks for labeling the "half" and "full". Might have been confusing otherwise. :P

Story? Interesting that you didn't set a half PR during that marathon... which would take a very slow start & slow finish I guess.

Lol. Of course he set a NEW Half PR during that race. No matter how slow the start and finish was.
