Agree. The whole thing was a spectacle and usually is. Slash was the best part, minus Fergie's horrible rendition of Axel Rose.

That had to be one of the worst Super Bowl Halftime Show I've seen and heard. Fergie's performance only strengthens my belief that she cannot sing. Just another auto-tuned pop star.

This doesn't prove she can sing. It proves she has a good sound engineer.
Actually, Usher was even worse than the Peas.

Usher as a singer was atricious but that jump he did over some guy into the splits was the most impressive athletic achievement of the night.

That's true. Much better than Christina Aguillera dropping the ball as badly as the Green Bay receivers. Otherwise, it would never have come down to the last drive. Thank goodness for Jennings. Probably should've been co-MVP.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWAqVQQ0Doo&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ5USp5BVsI&feature=relatedI have no agenda here. I don't like Fergie or the back eyed peas, but the girl can wail.
Both of those performances were awful. She's screaming more than singing.

Your white/KKK dick sucking ass suck!!
No speak Engrish?
At least I didn't have to explain to my kids this year who those old dudes on stage were and why (and when) they were once relevant.
Black Eyed Peas aren't really my style but I thought it was mildly entertaining at least and better than the fossils they have been rolling out there. I actually liked Fergie doing the Axl Rose dance.

perhaps you are unfamiliar with the concept of rock music?
I didn't think it was bad. I don't really like any of their music at all but the performance was somewhat entertaining. It was a pretty neutral and safe halftime show.
What do you people expect from a halftime show?
Better yet, what are some of your favorite halftime shows from past years?
Slash is Black dumbass!

Quite liked U2's performance during the game after 9/11 along with the list of all of the victims. Appropriate that the Patriots won that game.
I also enjoyed the reading of the Declaration of Independence before yesterday's game. That was the best part of the entire charade, including the game itself, though I doubt many Americans paid attention because it required discipline.
She has a decent enough voice, certainly not the worst voice in pop. She ain't no Ann Wilson. But the looks, voice and body combo makes her one of the hottest pieces of ass in the biz. Those tight black spandex jobbies...I need a moment, sorry.

Come to think of it, the whole thing was a spectacle. Even the DOC was the abridged version, though maybe just right to capture attention. But, then again, what about this Republic isn't a spectacle anymore?
I'd like to see a re-enactment of the Revolutionary War for the halftime show. Or the entire show. Make the game the halftime show... no timeouts, no stoppages.
Shame Slash didn't bring out his python to strangle Fergie.
Several sound guys undoubtedly lost their jobs over that performance as well. Multiple instances of microphones being set to the wrong volume.
In terms of creating a concert-like feel nobody is going to top Prince for several years now. U2's was touching with the 9/11 victims' names, and Tom Petty was a little boring performance-wise but good music.
The key to effective live performances is actual musical talent and personality. Only two of the black eyed peas have personality (Fergie and Will.i.Am, can anyone even name the other two?) and only one (Will.i.Am) has talent, and even that's debatable. Poor choice.
I hope that Iron Maiden or Judas Priest get the gig next year, in conservative Indianapolis of course!
Who or what is Usher?
Why not skip the whole halftime show altogether?
As a compromise why not get those two college bands that play in the Bayou Classic into the Stupor Bowl? They work their collective butts off and put on a Performance.
Awful isn't a descriptive enough word. I had heard of them, but couldn't watch them at all. That was just terrible. People pay to hear that???
