Six weeks after coming out of retirement, newly-crowned UK indoor shot-putt champion Mark Edwards is considering new goals.
That was back in early 2009 when he rad retired and come out of retirement... and now people are using the excuse that he shouldn't have been tested because he had "retired".
Does anyone know what drug he was busted for?
Unfortunately there is a restriction on naming the reason for the adverse finding.I grasp frustration but ...

Yes, he's most likely guilty and should have any titles stripped. He was national indoor champ just last year, who knows if he was really retired or not. The difference between runners and weight guys is that distance runners wouldn't keep using drugs after they give up the sport, a lot of strength guys (not specific to throwers) just get even more into weightlifting and keep using drugs.
How do we know he had retired or just stoped throwing after not being selected for olympics.
The word retirement is a good one for a newspaper story but does anything substantiate this.
And can a chap not change his mind esp after getting over an Olympic non selection

Either its a recreational drug, which is illegal but which I couldn't care less about
Or it's a PED in which case he's a cheat, albeit a cheat with a variation on the same excuse
You only are a cheat if you have broken a rule.If the rules dont apply as you were no longer subject to the rules then you cant be a cheat.As you have not broken a rule the matter of an excuse does not arise.
