I've never understood people who refuse to race unless they are in top shape. Is it an ego thing?
TRAINING or MARATHON TRAINING? This is a huge Alberto problem. They are not the same thing. You may have noticed that Wanjiru did not do a build up race in preparation for Chicago. Neither did Shobukova. The only reason to race during a marathon build up is for the payday. From a training point of view, it is foolish.
