I'm a Leaning To the Left Centrist, but Olbermann is an egotistical ass and I will not miss him one bit. Now if we could just get rid of O'Reilly and Hannity too....

You mean to say, "...Olbermann gets booted from his show."
good riddance

O'Reilly bullies and controls the mic for these guests. Rarely can a guest engage in a fair debate while on his show.
I think that it's to our peril as a nation that balanced discussion and debate has faded. It's been replaced by vitriol like that of middle eastern nations. To question the Right has become synonymous with non-patriotic behavior.
Olberman took great risk carrying the Left side. As the Right became more fanatic and unchecked he drifted too far. He became an easy target and lost his way IMO.
It is obvious that you do not watch O'Reilly on a consistent basis. The only people I have seen him bully (and this rarely happens) are Barney Frank (deserved)and other out of touch liberals (NPR people, left-wing college activists -- deserved)as well as an attorney for a terrorist at Gitmo (O'Reilly was upset that the attorney would not admit that his client was guilty -- so maybe undeserved).
It is also telling that you do not realize that the media as a whole is to the left of center. (Juan Williams was fired from NPR for appearing on Fox News.) This is what explains the success of Fox and talk radio -- the mainstream media has lost its audience because it is biased. In other words, Fox has balanced the debate.

O'Reilly's way of arguing is to interrupt his opponent relentlessly until the person gives up in disgust.

Olberman took great risk carrying the [insane fringe of the] Left side. As the [Left] became [yet] more fanatic and unchecked he drifted [into insanity]. He became an easy [justified firing for hate mongering, blaming conservatives for a crime committed by a person like himself] and lost his [soul].
I dislike both Hannity and O'Reilly, but at least Hannity treats peole with civility and lets then talk. O'Reilly's smugness and constant interupting makes him intolerable.
And please do not forget that this paragon of all that is right paid a coworker millions to keep her mouth shut forever in a sex harassment case.
Sportscenter will never be the same!
Oh boohoo ... maybe he can get a job at Air America Radio Network ... but he isn't a stand up comedian or a high brow "humorist" (humorist = a "comedian" with any Ivy League degree, but not actually funny enough to make a living at "The Comedy Werks") .. and Air America Radio Network is now history.
What 99% of you dorks out their don't realize is that you are sheep being played by both sides of the aisle. All of the hostility and anger that you hear is the two sides fighting over who gets to fvck you in the a$$.
I had a handful of personal encounters with Olbermann in the 1990s. Forget about political leanings. This guy is the most arrogant egotistical asshole I ever met. In every encounter, he was rude or abrasive, or just chose to ignore everyone around him. I am amazed he was given a show on TV at all, for any reason. I have no doubt he treated everyone who worked with him on the show like complete shit. MSNBC finally got the balls to fire his ass, and I am sure it had less to do with politics, and more to do with his bad attitude.
1) Comcast had nothing to do with the decision as it has not taken over management yet.
2) From what I have read, MSNBC and Olbermann ended the contract mutually. There might be a severance package, but it does not sound like it. My take is they just agreed to end the show and move on.
So what will Olbermann do? He was run off of Sunday Night football. Would CNN hire him? maybe NPR?

0bamao is looking to fill Gibbs spot. Dolbermann may be the only person with the proper stupidity/arrogance ratio to be considered as a Gibbs replacement.
