I'm not the coach of Linet, and never I was before. Of course, I meet Lineth several times in her training, because we live 300m far, but really I don't know too much about her training. Lineth, and Vivian Cheruiyot, are followed in Kenya by Sammy Rono, under the programs of Ricky Simms. I'm fully confident in their ability, and I think they can find solutions for winning the most important competitions,also if Lineth shows some lack of speed, compared with Dibaba and the same Vivian.
Someone has explain to me how it´s possible to be female close 30 runner and HAVE A LACK OF SPEED!
If you don't know the answer to that then you shouldn't be following the sport. Compared to Tirunesh, Meseret, Vivian, and Slyvia Kibet the graceful Linet doesn't have the speed they possess to close in sub 60, heck all of those ladies have closed a fast 5000m in sub 59 secs (which Linet Masai so far doesn't have the closing speed to produce).

the main thing is her endurance likely lasted virtually perfectly from 400m to M which is almost unique ( been conjectured khanoochi & sammy korir were also possibles, but they ran no track races in their peak years to compare )
Any lady contesting the World or Olympic 10000m have just one option in hope of beating Tirunesh if she is healthy.
1.) If healthy she CANNOT be outkicked in the 10000m; therefore, the ladies need to get away from Tirunesh.
2.) She's one of the best time trialers competing among the women. The WR holder in the 5000m and one of the fastest active 10000m female competitors. So a steady fast pace is useless.
Someone else mentioned fartlek and I agree that would be the best way to defeat Tirunesh and her counterparts. If a lady could train to incorporate moderate to fast pace every kilometer, that maybe the way to defeat Tirunesh.
No female has ever tired it in a World or Olympic Championship but if someone was capable of running:

That certainly could work but what lady is capable of such variance in pace. I don't know of any female out there who would be willing to try such a tactic if she could as it certainly would put her at risk of blowing up herself. A runner would have to be in 29:20-29:25 shape to try such a risky but definitely a Gold medal winning tactic.

That is total hogwash and nonsense.
The only way to beat Dibaba or anyone else is to run faster from the start of the race to the finish.
Tossing in surges to wear yourself out more would be a very dumb tactic, and bound to lose, even to runners not nearly as fast.
