That is a columnist, not a reporter. When you learn the difference you will be better able to differentiate fact from opinion.

No, he is a Professor of Law in Knoxville and a self promoter on his Blog; and for reasons stated above he is way off base.

(snip) What is now clear is that the defendant was mentally disturbed (likely not capable of following any political them other than that borne from irrational paranoia). Given this is the case, I am surprised at the lack of discipline on the left - it strikes me that they would at least be consistent and argue for better mental health programs. I would be shocked if one of the conclusions drawn from this incident is not that a better or more invasive intervention might have saved him. Evidence abounds of this guy's profound sense of disturbance - and at age, too, where full blown schizophrenia often manifests itsefl.
Amen to that. I find it amazing that the guy was removed from school on multiple occasions by police (!) for his disruptive behavior, but I can't find any evidence that he was counselled for treatment or substance abuse, which would be my expected norm for someone like him.
Boortz breaks it down in easy to understand terms for ya'.
I've been saying for years that we need to ban violent movies, video games, and songs like rap music that glorifies cop killers. You never know when it will trigger a crazy person, just like "Taxi Driver" triggering John Hinkley to try to kill Reagan. Offensive political speech should also be banned.
It might take changing the 1st amend. but it would be worth it because we would all be safer.

"Any one who will trade their rights for security deserves neither"
I changed the quote a little bit but it fits for what you are trying to say.
If you limit certain rights you open the door for people to take away more rights.
What is truth?[/quote]
That which is true.
No concern about how easily this obviously troubled kid waa able to legally purchase a machine gun and ammunition?

I can't tell if you are for real or if you are saying this "tongue in cheek". Sorry, I am a bit slow.

Yeah, it's a "delusion" to think this graphic was irresponsible of Sarah Palin:

I will be the first to say that Sarah Palin is dumber than a rock and has no integrity whatsoever. So, I think it is safe to say that I am not a huge Palin fan.
That said, I really don't get folks calling her ads with gun sights irresponsible. Targets, gun sights, etc are all pretty standard fare for denoting companies, individuals, states, goals...that someone wants to beat. I really don't see anything wrong with it. I really don't see how it promotes violence. And I really can't see how it has any connection to the recent tragic shooting.
The president of Fox News told his hosts to tone down the rhetoric.“I told all of our guys, shut up, tone it down, make your argument intellectually,” Mr. Ailes said. “You don’t have to do it with bombast. I hope the other side does that.”
