That was Bill Polian's decision. Polian was the wuss; Caldwell could have raised a stink but instead acted with the professionalism necessary to keep the team together.
I wasn't in the bathroom, and I didn't see what took place, but I did see Roethlisberger's haircut in that interview (http://tinyurl.com/386zjmj) and I know that anyone with that haircut is definitely a rapist.
The coach of the year should be the NE offensive line coach. Brady stands back there, no one within 5 yards of him, and surveys the field for 4-6 seconds. Most QB's are sacked by 3 seconds. Don't get me wrong, he is a great QB, but much like Montana, he is glorified by an unparalleled offensive line. Montana left & SF didn't miss a beat with Steve Young. Brady goes down and Matt Cassel looks like Brady. Good O lines make average QB's great and great QB's on another level from the rest.
By the way, the haircut crack was extremely funny and a bit too accurate for my comfort level as a Steeler fan.

He can have COY next year when his team beats more than one team (and that on the last week of the season) with a winning record. Coaches should all have to have two good years before winning COY. Unbalanced shedules make similar records not necessarily equal.
