It's stupid not to compete on Sunday. Pro sports, intl T&F, USATF, NCAA basketball/volleyball/etc. play on Sunday. Stores, freeways, movies, airports, etc. are open on Sunday.

Glad to see other people are sick of all the brainwashing that the religious leaders do to their flock. It's one of the biggest scams in the world, and in the USA they even avoid taxes. Oh, to be a preacher in the USA, what a deal.
And this is from a former catholic boy, I was lucky to avoid all those pedophile priests.
Move it to sunday and everyone wins as far as accommodations.
Anyone read "Under the Banner of Heaven"? we really need to accomodate those Mormons.
Many conf. meets are on Sunday. Who cares- its 2011, almost
File under "Reasons to hold major meets in Terre Haute that we didn't realize until now":
When they have lead time to do so, ISU schedules football around cross country. Schedules football around cross country. That's right, XC talks and football walks.
Dear Miss Poooshy,ISU scheduled the homecoming game after the NCAA awarded the champs to Oregon. You compared track nationals to a invitational. Covered Bridge has been going on for over 50 years and is two weeke long. Just goes to show that nomatter what, some whiney poooshy will find a reason to complain over just about anything.

The problem is that xc continues to get the back seat to every other event that goes on in Terre Haute. Running on Sunday is not a big deal, although it is disrespectful to BYU and others of like mind. The problem is that Indiana State self proclaimed Terre Haute as Cross Country Town USA when their town has never bought into this event like they want us us to believe. If this was truly Cross Country Town USA then the town wouldn't host the Covered Bridge Festival or football game on the same day. Having a football game the same day as pre-nats is nothing new. It happens almost every year adding to the hotel problem. If this truly is Cross Country Town USA then get the other events to move, at least for the future. Didn't Eugene (Track Town USA) move the date of graduation (after it was already scheduled) so they could host track nationals? Move homecoming and make the town move that festival or stop calling yourself Cross Country Town USA.
There are several other meets the weekend of Pre-Nationals. Some on Friday, some on Saturday. Oregon, Penn State, Arkansas, UVA all host meets that weekend. There should be a rise of attendance at those meets this year.
Coach Piane, get off ISU's nutz
Pre-Nats is still the best value in terms of grabbing at-large points. Most at-large qualifiers have also run Pre-Nats historically.
