What I learned on Letsrun in 2010

I learned that people don't seem to realize how hot it was in chicago

i learned that teg runs the 10 k... wait...

I learned that soon Lukas V will make everybody forget about Ritz,Solinsky,Webb,Tegenkamp,Rupp,Hall and everyone else that stands in his way on the road to a Gold Medal.

That Webb is finished.

That Webb is back.

...and what you have failed to learn: Many Great American Distance runners, names like Ryan, Liquori, Merrick, Prefontaine, Amaya, Terry Williams, Kimball, Bobby Thomas, Serna, Hulst, Hunt, Salazar, Chapa, Virgin, Centrowitz, Nelson, (you get the point by now surely?)

Have come and gone and have yet to get a 'Gold Medal.'

Always seems to be 'some unknown' guy training, 'weird' names, like Keino, Gammoudi, Viren, Yifter, Geb, Tergat, Wanjiru, and Bekele that just so happen to come along at the right time...to win that Gold Medal.

AS they say, 'timing is everything.' Best of luck to your hero Lukas and may 'the force be with him!' He might need it...if there's such a thing!

I learned that the coldest, hardest, most irrefutable facts are worthless if the person presenting them possesses the slightest hint of hypocrisy.

But you have to ignore that statement because I once went back for seconds twice in the school lunch line. I'm a monster, I know.

I've learned that whether you "letsrunners" are democrat, republican, atheist, devout christian, muslim, or european that I love you all and that you have given me many many laughs

I learned that there are an awful lot of people that want to know what they can run X distance for given Y workouts.

Everyone is on drugs all the time. No exceptions.

Especially those faster than you.

I learned that the girl at the coffee shop could just be doing her job, or there could be something more...

The same thing as 2009, 2008, and 2007....people are stupid

I have to be quicker on the computer than I actually have to be a runner to get into the Boston Marathon

I learned that my 2:41 at the Chicago Marathon makes me a hobby jogger

Not to trust Chiropractors who embellish their times or accomplishments

That Wanjiru is back.

I learned that field events are not important.

I learned that in order to be an elite athlete you must be between 115-170 pounds

I learned that OJ's glove did fit.

I learned crack is whack

I learned that no body ever talked about how under wear can effect a race performance

I learned that my mom is not fast

I learned that Ryan Hall is American....

I learned that the people on this message board like to talk about crap
