Rob Gary versus Brooks Johnson after Gary made a really good presentation on the steeplechase was very exciting. They went back and forth with both really holding their own. Brooks thinks the only problem with American distance runners is the last 400 meters (critical zone).
I know two full scholarship runners at Stanford from that era who absolutely hate him.

The guy is shady if you ask me. Look at all the athletes he has worked with that have illegal drug issues. Regina Jacobs, now Gatlin and I have my doubts about Oliver's cleanliness after the season he just had.

Did he actually say that? If he did, then i agree he's an idiot. The reason we lose races in the last 400 in tactical races, is not because of the last 400 meters. It's because of the first 4600 or 9600 tapping our guys out more than the people they lose to. Anyone with half a brain knows that.
